Lawstudent, unfortunately fdcpa only allows 1K of statutory damages per suit. The multiple violations are used to remove bonafide error defense and to prove willful noncompliance to go for punititive damages.

Default Bass and Associates

I'm dealing with the same group. They did the same shpiel. I filed a complaint about them with the FTC. I was told they had five days to send me correspondence about the debt. They added that if I didn't hear back from them, then I should speak with a lawyer about filing suit against them for not following the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

You can also find my Pub topic about Bass victims and retrieve the reporter's email in it.The reporter is local to Bass's home town and is very interested in hearing from everyone.

'Google' their name. If it pops up, it may be legit, if it doesn't, watch out. Check with Miami Better Business Bureau, just in case.
