|
|
Got a call today from a mysterious CA. The automated recording I got said my middle name was something like Mishaquel (It's Michael). I busted out laughing really loud at that one.
Has anyone else heard their name butched that bad before?
And before anyone responds YES I plan to send a DV letter CMRRR since I know the popular reply for some people (no matter what the question is) is to send a DV letter CMRRR

No, not really, cause my first and last name are very easy to pronounce. But when collectors call (who don't speak English very well), they can even butcher my name.

I wonder where the recording was done. The computer should know how to pronounce your name as the spelling is the common way. Makes me think that the computer programming looks at CHEAL and interprets it as a soft "sh" sound as opposed to a hard "k" sound, based, more than likely, on the local names.

Computer can make errors. Might be this happened in your case. Send the DV letter to the CA and get confirmed on their collection attempt.
Did you get to know which company was calling and for which creditor are they collecting?
