Cap One re-aging

I was wondering if one of you fine people could give me a bit of advice. I have been pulling my CRs rather faithfully lately (I'm on a mission to get my credit repaired) and I have been noticing A Cap One co seems to be getting younger as time goes on. The true date of last activity was 08/2001. Then I saw on a report that it said 12/02. Then a few months later I noticed it was now something/03. I'm no credit expert, but methinks something smells fishy. I also notice they're not reporting a high balance, just a N/A.

Any thoughts?

Call each bureau and get true date of first delinquency. Some put it on report, some don't.If you have proof of reaging and you are not in a repayment plan with them which would reage it,then send a sternly worded letter to them to either fix it or get ready to pay you for violating the FCRA.

As for proof, I have copies of my CR from the big 3 since 2005. I assume that's good enough? I'm wondering if I should keep my mouth shut until the day it is to fall off my reports legally, then I could dispute it if it doesn't fall off. I'd rather not poke the hornets nest until it's in my favor.

*EDIT* I'm not in a repayment plan that would restart the SOL.

If the debt is out of sol for lawsuits,I see no reason to wait since you have documents to prove your claim.

This is one famous tactic of Capitol One. They have been doing this to my mom for quite a while. When she started disputing the age of the accounts, they miraculously changed the date back to the original date. Then when she demands validation from NCO, she gets a letter from Capitol One that they cant prove the account is hers because they don't have any signatures on file showing she actually took the card and zero'd out the balance.

I was reading on another board I post on that member posting about their post bankruptcy reporting. Counted 20 violations on one report.Looking at 60K in possible statutory damages, plus punitive for willfull noncompliance, plus any actual, and finally lawyer fees.I told him to have fun and bleed them for me. I've been reading up a bit on CapOne (or Crap1 as many people call them) and it seems like they enjoy pulling dirty little stunts.

I don't suppose anyone has the phone numbers of the big 3 at their fingertips so I can call about the DOLA?

Is Cap1 (and others) required to list the credit limit? I read somewhere that without that limit it can royally screw up your scores.
