Campos Chartered Law/ Hess Kennedy are being sued in Florida. Look on line they are a fraud company. THIS IS THE TRUTH. Google them and find out. Don't believe the people saying they are good. Every expierence is different but as a whole they are SCAM artists. Every credit card company will settle with you. They want something from you. It's better than nothing. Pay yourself or take out a loan from your bank to pay them off. At least then you will be paying back one entity instead of multiple ones. If you own a home take out equity to pay it off. My friend did that. I went with HK and they scammed me so I did it myself. I will be out of dept soon so I'm glad I got out before I paid them alot of money. If consolidators don't give you a monthly statement it is a scam. If they say don't try to contact credit card company..it's a scam. If they say pay a fee up front...it's a scam.

Campos Chartered Law/ Hess Kennedy are the same company. You see, what they do is change the name of the company often to fool the people. They all have the same office address or phone numbers. They are still in business under another name right now. I'm not sure what it is though. Debt man, ron1111, steveitxy and steveitsy seem to be in on the scam. They know they are in trouble so they send someone into these blogs to say positive things about the company. If they are so great why do they change the name often? As far as I know they changed the named 3 times in 3 years. It should not take 5 months when your creditors realize you're in a consolidation program. It should not take 5 months for consolidators to contact your creditor either. That's giving time for scam artist to get your money before you notice they are not doing their part. That whole premise sounds crazy. Go with a consolidation company that is near you and you can go to their office if you go with any at all. Also if you go to the BBB you will notice that Hess Kennedy is graded an F. If any company on BBB have numerous complaints filed against them STAY AWAY.

Here read this:

Government Actions:
FLORIDA: February 2008. The Attorney General has filed suit against Laura L. Hess, Esq., Laura Hess & Associates, P.A., Hess Kennedy Chartered LLC, and The Consumer Law Center, LLC. Laura L. Hess of Coral Springs, her Broward County law firm and two other Florida-based companies she controls are named in the first lawsuit, which states Hess allegedly signed thousands of credit card debtors up for debt management services, claiming the law firm would provide legal services to cancel debts for pennies on the dollar. Representatives of Hess allegedly told consumers that the companies had audited the consumers? accounts and found numerous violations under the Fair Credit Billing Act, then sent notices to creditors disputing all charges. Consumers were falsely told that once these notices were issued, the consumers did not have to pay creditors and creditors could not sue or otherwise take action against them. The Attorney General?s lawsuit alleges Hess?s deception led to lawsuits and other actions against several debtors. The case is pending.

Hope this helps everyone!!!!!!!!!

Both Florida and North Carolina have filed deceptive practices suits against Hess Kennedy and another two states are investigating the firm, according to Business Week magazine.

Florida Attorney General Bill McCollum charged the firm with promising consumers it would help to reduce or eliminate their credit card debt for a fee. Hess Kennedy allegedly takes the fee but doesn’t pay off the debts, according to McCollum,

The Florida bar is seeking to suspend the law license of Hess Kennedy as well, according to the Daily Business Review in Florida.

Chase Bank USA sued Hess Kennedy last Friday in federal court in Wilmington, Del., accusing the firm of running an “unlawful debt elimination scheme,” according to the Review. Chase’s six-count complaint charges the firm with interference with Chase customers, conspiracy and violations of Delaware trade practices. Beth Moskow-Schnoll, a partner with Chase’s attorney Ballard Spahr Andrews & Ingersoll, referred calls to Chase. Chase did not return calls

In December, the Attorney General of West Virginia obtained an injunction that barred Hess Kennedy’s Florida attorneys from settling consumer debts for West Virginia consumers.

Hess Kennedy claims on its Web site it is an international law firm with offices in the U.S., Europe, and the Caribbean. It manages $6.8 billion for 3,500 clients, the site reports. Hess Kennedy referred calls to its attorney Robert C. Buschel with Rothstein, Rosenfeldt Adler of Ft. Lauderdale. Buschel did not return calls.

But i have terminated my service when i seen an actual bk attorney. if they are a scam and if they dont help at the time they were ok but i was concerned if a creditor does not accept settlement they could get a judgement against you and i would have to see an attorney anyway so i got out before i got in to deep. would i go the a settlement co again nope because like i said if creditors dont accept settlement you still have to figure how to work it out. i suggest you remove you lye about me being in with them in scam you had not bases for saying i was part of it thank you

STEVEITXY, I said it SEEMED you were in on it, SEEMED being the key word. Everyone's interaction is different. Maybe you were one in a million they did do work for so you can spread the false rumors that they are legit. They could not have screwed everyone or they would not have a business for long periods. Who knows and who cares. They are still SCAM artists. If you're not involved then move on. Sensitive over a blog....LOL. If you have money tied in with them you better move fast because they are going under. But they will be back under another name in no time. And again EVERY CREDITOR WILL SETTLE WITH YOU. May not be the amount you want but they will work with you. Campos lied to you. Some money is better than no money at all. And if anyone tells you different they are not telling the truth.

EVERY CREDITOR WILL SETTLE WITH YOU.

In Search of Edward T. Kennedy, Florida Lawyer

By Debra Cassens Weiss
Edward T. Kennedy is a New York tax lawyer with a Manhatten firm. He is not the Edward T. Kennedy listed as a partner in an embattled Florida law firm Hess Kennedy.
The New York Kennedy told the Daily Business Review he has no connection to the Coral Springs firm, and that the West Virginia attorney general's office asked him the same question two months ago.
Apparently no one maintains there is a link to the New York Kennedy, not even Hess Kennedy. The Florida debt settlement law firm claims its Edward Kennedy resides in Brussels and is not a made-up name for Edward Cherry, an investor who is not a Florida lawyer. So far, the Florida Kennedy has not surfaced. But Kennedy’s whereabouts are only part of Hess Kennedy’s troubles.
Florida ethics regulators have accused Hess Kennedy of running a “deceptive debt settlement scheme," the Daily Business Review Reports. The law firm has also faced lawsuits by Chase Bank and the attorneys general of Florida, North Carolina and West Virginia.
The Florida Bar complaint alleges the law firm’s operation is "designed to extract upfront fees from financially strapped clients whether or not any useful services are performed." Clients "rarely obtain debt settlements ... and end up in a far worse financial position" than before. The complaint also claims name partner Laura Hess is sharing fees with nonlawyers. Hess has denied the allegations.
Cherry is also facing legal problems. A civil suit claims he embezzled at least $600,000 from his previous employer, a charge he denies.

Choose Nova Debt if you go with anyone. It seems they have a good record. Like I said IT SEEMS. But I highly recommend doing it your self.

And don't bother calling charter if you mean HK charter or Campos, just file a complaint with the BBB and the AG to get your money back.
