In any business you will have your sare of non-satisfied customers. It seems that Mr. Campos cannot make everyone happy.

Well KatiMartino - Apart from the slew of recent "Guest" posts, which are highly suspect, I would heed what you have read.

Speaking from my own personal experience. I would run as far away from this company as possible. They have a horrible record with the BBB, which wasn't the case when I was referred to them. I had to file complaints with the Florida BBB where they are located, as well as the Florida Attorney General's Office to get a refund from them.

I am well aware of the difference between debt consolidation and debt settlement and how each work. I made payments long enough to have enough in my escrow account for this company to start negotiating the settlement of some of my smaller debts. Nothing was being done, no correspondence had been sent out to my creditors to advise that I was even working with this company, and when I started to realize that something wasn't right, it was too late. My emails and written correspondence were ignored. When I called, I was kept on hold for extremely long periods of time (while paying the long distance rates), and would then be hung up on before a paralegal or anyone else other than a receptionist would talk to me.

A guy named Adam, who listed himself as the Office Manager, actually responded to the BBB and Florida AG complaints by saying that the credit counseling firm (CCC of America) who had referred me to his company gave me wrong information, but as a gesture of goodwill, they would refund my money. They claimed that they do not provide debt settlement services, but rather audit consumer credit account agreements to see if high/unreasonable interest was being charged by creditors and then try to handle the accounts for consumers based on this.

Yet, my contract, which I have saved, states in black and white, that I was agreeing to retain them for "Debt Settlement" services. There was no mention anywhere in the contract of them providing services to dispute consumer credit agreements.

Anyway, like one "Guest" advised.... do your own research. There is info about this company on numerous other sites besides this one.

Research, research, research. Even the smartest of people can get played. Learn from your mistakes and move on. Warn others by reporting it......

I became unemployed, had already filed a bankruptcy previously, and needed a way to manage some debts. I received an email about debt consolidation, so I went and checked out the web site. It sounded like something that could help me, so I signed up for the program. I agreed to pay $121 a month for 12 months, and in return my debts would be taken care of. I never received a copy of my contract, I still had debt collectors calling me, and different and higher amounts were taken from my checking account with no explanation. Every time I called I would get a recording saying to leave a message and my call WOULD be returned within a half hour during normal business hours. I never received calls back. This is an absolute fraud!

Hi everyone, I am here because everytime I go on here I hear so many negative and positive things about this company, over all I can tell you one thing, if any complaints are legitimate than file it with the attorneys office, try and get their lisencing yanked so they can stop practicing law if they are actually true scammers. So bottom line is this people that are actually complaining is either 1. Unhappy clients that didn't fully understand what debt settlement program means because they've been misguided by whoever presented them the program or 2. Disgruntled ex-employees. Remember common says if a law at hugh has Campos or Hess than you will definitely run into some forms of complaints but believe me whatever the complaints may be it hold very little grounds because as soon as that client signs that form there is actually full disclosure policies that is meant for a 5th grader to understand aswell not like how the credit card companies tries to disclose you on their policies that even a 27th grader can even decipher. I am sure if anyone that owns a credit card just look up the BBB and tell me how complaints you see on that company(THOUSANDS) but yet us people still do business with them, isn't ironic???? Just use common sense, if you are dealing with a LAW FIRM, they have alot to lose and they studied and practiced law for many years and make really good money so therefore when they open their own major firm do you think they would want to risk getting shut down for just a few buck? Commonsense I tell

For Consumers who are knee deep in debt and do not qualify to file for BK and only hope is to participate in debt settlement programs, my advise to you is that before enrolling into a settlement program please research and read up about what your Fair Collection Practice Act is first so that way you fully understand what the risk involves are, second evaluate your own self be ensure you are well discplined this time to fully complete a program because it doesn't make any sense to continue to put money out there knowing you will not suceed and later on have to drop out again. And third find a law firm that has the experiences and knowledge in negotiating with your creditors/bill collectors. Threads that post a complaint is not legitimate enough to pass good judgement, because I can guarantee you one thing there is not one particular Law Firm in the nations that handles a settlement program will have a 100% non complaint or satisfied proof for everyone. My knowledge of Hess Kennedy is this, they are an international law firm based all over the world and they are not just focused on handling settlements they practice other laws, like property asset protection, bankruptcy, credit counseling, wealth management and debt settlement. A company like this with the size and volume it has is considered well established considering they have over 6 billions dollars managing their clients assets so therefore one thing you can be sure this company is not out to make a quick buck and go bankrupt and disapear with your money. As you can see they actually have much to lose. I speak on any other law firm but as long as its a law firm that is fully regulated and approved by your state than basically they are all the same when it comes to practicing the same laws but I can not speak on their behalf when it comes to experiences.
