What a company that has no class. Got two nasty messsages from them and they called my parents telephone number. I called them back and turns out it is a company that is trying to collect on an old debt from three years ago that I have paid to another collection company. They insisted that it was a different account and that I owed the bill. That I need to "pay my bills" and I told them I did and we tryed to call the other company on conference call however they were closed. I told them I was going to report them to the FCC and they said they would get their legal people involved. Too much. I told them to stop calling and to put that on record.

Typical. Send the company a total cease & desist, include in the letter that this debt is paid. Enclose a copy of the payment as proof and tell them in the letter if they insist on trying to collect this already paid debt, you will not hesitate to haul them to court.

Is there a difference between writing a Total Cease and Desist and a Cease and Desist?
