That's EXACTLY what i told him kar! Tell them u do NOT know me which isn't a lie cuz i'm NOT that last name anymore and haven't been in a very long time. It actually sounded really weird to hear someone ask for me by that name as i haven't used it in almost a quarter of a century! YIKES, now that sounds like a LONG time!

It's probably a good thing that yu have credit monitor- just in case someone is trying to pull a fast one and use your name!!

I have a friend that was called by a CA on a neighbor!! They did some skip tracing and found out who lived close to them and called kar

Ya know Kar i never thought about this could be someone with the same name as me (my maiden name that is)! I bet that's what it is....
Ahh well as long as it's NOT on my credit report i'm not gonna worry too much about it... i'm more curious than anything else!

Ang this sounds a lot like a bad skip trace or mistaken indentity. If they don't litter your reports,I would ignore them unless they found your true addy or phone number.

Hmm. URS. The company I work for.. wel get a lot of people from that company sometimes. They don't last long but with that being said I've heard good and bad.

They are attempting to skiptrace you. If they just started it isn't going to be long before they do find your married name unless they think you are divorced. That is if it is even you they are looking for and not someone similar.

Call them from a payphone and ask them what's going on. It's nothing that is going to hurt expecially if it is mistaken identity.

Well FYI even IF it is me they're looking for obviously it's a VERY old whatever it is... I haven't been my maiden name in 23 years!! And I can guarantee u i do NOT owe a thing from that long ago! That's when i was in college and i have NO student loans, had only ONE credit card from my employer at the time which was paid off when i quit and i had NO medical. The only thing i did have was a telephone in my name and it just happens to be the same one my brother is now using, same number and all... so???

Recently I got a call from a number which, as I found later, traces back to that company. The caller stated there was an urgent need for them to get in touch with my neighbor next door.
He wanted to be called back by the neighbor.
Talk about abuse of trust (not to mention violating the law).
A cursory search reveals that it's a common
pratice for URS to contact third parties.

You should make sure that it is legal to tape your phone conversation with that company. Go to fixyourthinking.com, and go to recording phone call, the check the law in your state!!

I absolutely HATE this company!
The first time we heard of them, it was a message left on my parents phone saying my husband needed to call them back and THEY WERE NOT PLAYING GAMES!
The phone call my husband and I had back to the jerks was awful. I wish I had seen this site before we called them. He made us feel like garbage because we have so many medical bills because dr.s can't figure out what is wrong with my husband.
I am sure they are charging us way more than the original bill, and I have already sent 3 payments....can I still ask for proof of the orginal bill? When we asked for a statement, they just sent the same letter they sent the first time with their crap on it.
I am so upset with this company, I wish there was something I could do.

thats whats wrong with America people not wanting to pay there bills,, a bunch of dead beats thats why people like myself have lower limits and higher rates because of dead beats!!! banks got tarp to cover the loss,, and who could blame the banks,, its your bill pay it,, United re sys is just trying to get for the banks what is owed,, so that great bill paying people like myself,,,,, can keep our great lines of credit without all the crap,, you wanna know something else collections companys dont buy it,, the banks only pay some and thats only if they collect,, if not then it bounces to the next agency,, and with the new bill being passed,, your kids collage could go down the drain if you dont have the money up front or if you dont have a great credit score,, under 21 and your not getting a credit card without mom or dad being a so called co signer,, so keep on running,,, your going to end up paying for it in the end... Good paying americans wants dead beats to own up...

Peacefullangie - how naive you are. It's not the debt it is greed, pocketing off your welfare. Your day will come and you will see what it is all about - you will be on ontime payor and whammo you will be default - will you fix it - hardly - you will find you are in collections and have hell removing it. It's not about paying it is about sabotaging for profit.

Received a letter from URS saying I owe 700 on a dell account from five years ago. Have not purchased anything on my dell account in five years, have never received a bill, what gives?
