Internet's first get-out-of-debt community - 128,000 members

I mailed my letters for debt validation. I sent them certified/registered mail. It's been over 30 days and I've not heard from either of the collection companies. What do I do now?

Wait them out! Don't do anything, very often they are too lazy or do not have the info and just sell you too someone else! Who are the collection agencies?

one was asset acceptance and the other was professional credit services.

Hey Frog, I thought you could dispute it on your credit report and have it wiped off, if they don't validate?? Not sure, it just seems like I've read that somewhere. I could be wrong. Confused

Yes you can. For that matter you can dispute anything! Many CAs do not have the staff to dig up records especially old ones. That is how to repair your credit yourself. My next project!

The CA does not have a time limit, unless you live in Texas, to provide validation. The only 30 day limit is for the consumer to dispute the debt. If your DV is timely, then all collection efforts must cease until validation is provided. If your DV is untimely then they do not have to cease collection activity but must mark their TL as disputed.
