I have been receiving phone calls from this guy at the above referenced number, first at home and for the last two days at work. Not sure how he obtained my work #. He is nasty with a thick foreign accent. He states the following, says my name that this message is intended for me and that the very second that I receive this phone call I am to contact him or have my attorney of record call him. Do not ignore this call…return it immediately and he says my first name. Then he proceeds to tell me that if I don’t call he can only wish me good luck as the situation unfolds on top of me. Best of luck to me and my kids.

This is scary and really difficult to ignore. Has anyone else had the same situation? I have done a google on this number and it states it is a scam…

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Moving this to the collection forum. You are not alone. People are getting these types of calls every day. Sounds like US National Bank. Indian accent? They are likely spoofing the number. Have you ever taken out a payday loan? About the only thing they can do is call you. You aren't going to be arrested and nothing is going to "unfold on top of you".

NASCAR_Devil, thank you I feel better now...I thought I had paid off all of the payday loans from the past. I don't get any kind of information from him just that I need to call and what I stated before...seems as though alot of people get this same call...I have had several different people call from there. Isn't this harassment since they aren't aloud to threaten you and this company is...

It is harrassment but there is not much that can be done since they are likely calling from another country. File complaints with the FTC and your states AG.

Will they ever stop calling? Like I said first at home now work too...I haven't answered the phone and if they call and I do answer I am going to tell them to send me the validation of the debt in writing if not go away!! Hope that works probably won't.

Thanks for the information.

Just ignore them. If you engage, they'll continue to harass you

The only way I have found to get these people off your back is to call them once every hour for small talk. Ask him what he ate for lunch and what he is wearing then talk about guns and how good of a crack shot you are. I know this sounds stupid and retarded as advice but these people are scum and only go away when they are bothered by you. Once a manager even picked up the phone call in to ask me to stop harassing his employees. That was the last time I ever heard from them..........

OK got another message from this Shawn Taylor...he calls every day at work around 9:15-9:30 and then he leaves several messages at home...this is my last warning, the very 2nd I get this message call him, time sensitive, gives the # 201-234-4071 and repeats it, states that I or my attorney of record needs to call him immediately. If I don't return the call he can only wish me good luck. Best of luck to me and my kids.

It is really getting to the point of harassment? I am so frustrated I just want to scream.

Is there anything I can do? Will they eventually go away?

I need some more information here.

I received two of these calls as well. Very weird! I know no longer have any outstanding debt and received one or two of these threatening calls back when I was deep in debt, so I am not overly concerned. The same woman "Sarah" called me but she gave two different numbers (area codes were for California and then for New Jersey). They must be some kind of scammer.

I would suggest reporting it though. I reported it to the FTC and the AGs in NY, NJ and CA.

Ok so do these guys really go away...I received a call at work and home on Friday stating that it was my final notice and if I didn't respond things would unfold upon me, he hasn't called work today, not sure if he called my home..

I hope I don't need to worry...

the name Shawn Taylor sounds familiar. I think that these collection agents actually use aliases. The names are too simple.
