MOST of you are uneducated fraud check writers that have no idea what you are talking about. You are in denial this is not a bogus company. I was an employee there. They are real people with real information. Just pay your debts and you wont get calls! There are certain things that we cannot say- such as warrant for your arrest- no idiot were not police! however if you do not pay LEGAL ACTIONS WILL BE TAKEN AGAINST YOU! we are not able to inform you of what legal actions you would run into by LAW. Soooo lets talk about LAW- you know so much about it? The reason we do not need to send proof is because you have recieved letters from your bank! your monthly bank statements AND you have been contacted by the collection agent themselves- after ALLLLLL those people could not contact you- thats when we did because THEY do not want to be bothered with YOU anymore. No ones saying you will go to jail- but you certainly are not the greatest citizen when walking away with free merchandise.=) toodles.

I got a call today from the Rephen Law Firm. The lady spoke so fast and I was so scared by her, I finally told her she had to slow down so I could write down what she was telling me. She said I owed on these two checks from 2005. I told her I would look for the proof she said I needed and call her tomorrow (12/15/10) I did have two unhonored checks in 2005 that she is talking about. I heard nothing about these checks until 2007 when some collection agency originally called me and I couldn't remember what happened after that while I was on the phone.

After digging thru papers for 45 minutes, I decided to look up the Rephen Law Firm on computer and read all this stuff. Then I relaxed and now remember that when I did pay these two checks off, I put it on a credit card.

So I don't know what these people are doing calling me but when the payoff information I am giving it to state and federal agencies with a complaint.

The woman was rude, talked so fast I couldn't understand anything she was saying, she didn't slow down until I told her if she didn't slow down so I could write this down, I wasn't doing anything about looking. She told me I was in a lot of trouble and she would suggest that I pay the amount double the initial debt before it got any worse for me.

I am glad I found these posts - it gives me a little peace knowing I probably did pay it already. I just have to prove it.

Any advice, please post it for me. Thx

you file the AG,and FTC complaints against this bottomfeeder.also file a police report as she broke the law with that call.then ignore them.they can't do squat to you if they could they wouldn't threaten it constantly like they do.they have to rely on scare tactics because that is all they have.nothing else.

I actually got a call today from a Wendy Moore, stating I had to pay today or they were going to turn my information into the courts. I advised her I don't get payed next until Jan. She then stated they couldnt wait that long and then proceeded to tell me they would deny that payment. Why if they actually are a collection company would they deny any payment I would be making?!?! I got in touch with the original company I had written the bad check with and they couldn't help me...so I called the "check care" company the check had apparently gone to once the company handed it over. They were also very rude, stating that is the only law firm that they deal with and I would have to call them back. So, now that my blood pressure has gone through the roof, I called back. I actually got in touch with Wendy Moore once again.I asked if they could send me actual proof of how much I pay and what evey penney I would be paying would go to. Wendy then proceeded to tell me I couldnt get that, not until I actually pay it off. She then tried to threaten me with court and me getting "locked up" for the bad check. I realize I was in the wrong for having the check bounce but GEEZ! I thought about getting a lawyer, does that seem like the right thing to do?

It isn't right, there are laws that protect consumers, it's called FDCPA. If you have never received a letter of collection from them via the mail then I wouldn't even discuss this with them over the phone.
