Depends on the circumstances. At this point, it's only 120-150 days delinquent, so it's possible that the OC still owns the account. Call'em up and ask. Lemme know what they say.

OK, that happens. Who did they say they sold it to???

You need to get that from the OC, if at all possible.

Resurgent? Great!

They're part of the LVNV / Sherman family, and crooked as the day is long. I've dealt with them myself, as have many folks on this board. You definitely want to make them prove everything up front. Letter to them, too.

LVNV...the bottom feeders that feed on bottom feeders. DV both Resurgent and LVNV (they are in the same office complex). Is LVNV reporting on your CR's?

Certified Mail, Return Receipt Requested. If you aren't sure what forms you need, just go up to the Post Office window and tell them what you want. They'll give you the correct forms.

You'll get the green card [return receipt] back in the mail in a few days. Keep it in a safe place with a copy of the letter you sent. That's your proof, and you just may need it later.

And stop dealing with them through any medium other than the mail. Send the letters, and we'll go from there. You're still entitled to validation before you pay them anything.

I received a call from creditors exchange today requesting 9500.00 or legal action and I need a valid mailing address to send a validation letter. Please help because the address I received was for Buffalo, Ny and I cannot validate it through the white pages
