I guess the serious stuff atarted about a year ago. In an attempt to get our children in a better school system, we bought a second house in a very good district. I needed to finish the renewvation on the first house to be able to put it on the market. After a car wreck and being in physical pain, it led to mental pain. After my youngest son got kicked out of daycare for behaveral problems, I have to take care of him. I work from home and need time to think about things and have a train of thought. I am unable to do this with the questions every 5 minutes. My wife has a good job as a CPA, but I am having a problem doing anything. I need to get the first house finished and on the market, but I can never get over there to work on it. I need to work on my business, but I have a 4 yr. old bugging me. All this time I have debt collectors calling and making things worse. Every time I turn around things get worse. I just need a little help till I get that house done so I can mark one item off of my list and be able to focus on my business.

Keep yourself busy in some work. Maybe, you should concentrate more towards your business and increase your source of income. Don't let the negative thoughts hurt your personal life. This is not good for you.
Let the counselor analyze your personal situation and he will start negotiating with the collection companies. He will set a lower plan with the CA so that it becomes easier for you in making the payments. Focus on increasing your source of income; because that’s the only way you can let some pressure get off your back.

Bryan, First of all let me tell you there is an old saying. When they are little they step on your feet, when they are grown they are stepping on your heart. Take a deep beath and take a good look at your child. God placed a miracle in your hands and your child is the most important thing. I feel like you are overwhelmed you just need to calm down. Things always have a way of working out. Maybe a family member could help once a week or something. Try workin on the house when your wife is home to take care of the little one. My prayers are with you. KYSIDE38

You can get the collectors off your back at least. Send them a cease and desist letter. A copy can be found on the do it yourself section of this site. Are they collection agencies. Please also listen to all the good advice that you have received from the other members. Keep a positive attitude and count your blessings.

Collectors can do absolutely nothing but blow hot air, and at times, generally break the law (in which case sue them). If it is about unsecured debt, pay them last (if at all), after you've paid the mortgage, bought food, etc. Send them a partial cease and desist letter stating that you'll only communicate by mail. Send the letter certified return reciept.

hello bryan
I am also sorry for your troubles, i think we all go through rough times in life and that is part of reality, i think you just have to stay strong and keep your head up high, you know this is just another passing phase and only the strong survive, like the survival of the fittest, you just cant give up, i agree with lawstudent, collectors cant do much but to call and call and call, i say turn your phone off, and start to find a better job that pays better, it only takes good savings and smart balance and you can be on your feet again within a year, this forum is great as we can all talk to one another with our problems and that is one thing that helps ones troubles is to talk it out
