OC vs CA

If the original creditor is willing to take full payment for the delinquent amount owed instead of the CA is there a better chance I can dispute with the Credit Agencys to have it taken off by the collection agency, since I never sent the payment to them.

This is a payment owed to my City whom i owned an emergency tax too. I called the City this morning and tried to have them remove it from my credit report but they said they could not do it. They would mark it as "paid in full", only.

I figure if im paying the original party owed why would the CA have a right to still be on my credit report.

AM I WRONG?

This is a very good question! Did u ask teh city if they would pull the acct back from the CA?? I'd think if they do, then they would have no reason to report it! But Cajun will be around to answer, as he's very knowledgabel on these kinds of questions.

File a dispute with the credit reporting agency and they will remove it for thirty days. If the CA can't prove that you did not pay the money which you did then the agency will remove it for good. You could also send a certifired letter to the CA and tell them that you have paid this and therefore there entry is innaccurate and demand to have it removed or you report them to the FTC for a FCRA violation. I do not think you will see it come back.
