I decided to settle. They were able to produce an agreement with my signature on it. I can't afford a judgement on my credit, and can't spend any more time dealing with this. I have everything in writing, so hopefully they won't try anything funny. Best of luck.

figures--

did they produce anything proving that you owe them a debt? If not, for your own protection, I would NOT pay them a cent or offer to pay them a cent. You need to force them to prove that you owe this debt, that the amount owed is as they claim, and that they have the legal right to collect on the debt in the first place. If you do not force them to prove these things, you could easily end up paying them money they are not entitled to, and heres the worst part--if you pay them and they arent the ones entitled to collect this debt, then you just threw that money down the toilet. At that point, your debt wont be any more paid off than before they filed the lawsuit.

I feel they have not given me hard proof they own the debt, I am not even sure what they need to provide me as proof, they have given me a affidavit of debt that looks to be from the OC and 5 copies of old statements, A bill of sale from the OC, but does not have any info about me or my account on it, a credit card agreement dated from 1999, account was open in 95 and does not have any info about me or my account on it, also a second affidavit of debt from OC Claiming all 3 account numbers used in statements from them was for the same account, again nothing protaining to me or account in Question

any help or info, about what they really need to show they own this account would be great Thanks

They got anything with your signature on it? Anything at all that ties you to this account?
