Overstress is trying to figure out who i should pay first....i went down the list of my creditors. one by one, i called an was yelled at. At 8pm, i got on the phone with redline recovery service and they said i owe 4k. I told them it only reflect that i owe 2k on all three of my credit report. how the hell do they have 4k.

she said she can settle for the amount that is reflect on my Credit report but i had to give her it all now.

I told her i can't pay it. And she ask if i was employed. i stupidly said YES. she ask what company. i didn't disclosed the information and eventually hung up with her because she was badgering me and be littleling me.

Do you think they are going to try to garnish my wage????????can this figure out where i am employed at???

i;m so worried.

First of all let me tell you that it is not a big deal for a collection agency to find out whether you are employed and in which company you work. Even if you didn’t say anything they could find it out in no time.

It is better to contact the original creditor than the CA. If the creditor refuse to negotiate with you directly and pushes you to the CA then send a debt verification letter to the concerned collection agency, which in your case is Redline recovery service. If the CA verifies the debt correctly then negotiate to settle the same, as per your pocket’s limitation.

Now, if you have multiple debts then it is better to payoff the smallest ones first because by this you’ll be able to get a psychological boost up by seeing some of the debts getting cleared up.

Thanks, Phoenix Smile

Unfornantely, all my debts all so old that they are no longer with the orginial creditors.

I did just that, i paid of my two smallest card this week Smile
I was stoked but i hit the speed bump last night wth redline recovery.

Hopefully i can get two more paid off my the end of the month.

Than i would be albe to deal with redline and there meaniness. But they are on the back burner for now.

I've never really understood why most of the collection agencies employees are so "mean" and disagreeable. Did ANY of their mothers teach them that you catch more bees with honey than flies or vineager (or whatever the saying is Smile )

from 2,000.00 to 4,000.00 is that right?i would send a DV and limited C&D letter.you have 30 days from initial contact to dispute the debt or any portion of.i think that qualifies.

Probably a bunch of bogus "late fees" and such.

Check out budhibbs (dot) com website. He has information regarding Redline Recovery. Very interesting.

Thanks desperately!

I just read the information on the website and emailed him a couple of questions.

It is so discouraging when i read stuff like that because i just want to pay without no penalties in the future. sometimes i just want to give and and think it is too late!

Someone from redline services called me today. i had to hang up on them because i was at work.

I would send the DV and partial C&D IMMEDIATELY. Make sure you state that you want them to not contact you at work and until they validate the debt, to make any contact via USPS! This will eliminate the calls to your work as well as the harassing phone calls at home.

Make sure you send it certified mail with return receipt requested (CMRRR).
