Encore Receivable Management, Inc has been taking monthly payments from my checking account for few months now. This amount is higher than what the monthly bill from Sears shows is due. I can no longer afford the higher amount so I sent Sears a check for the the billed amount. I also closed the bank account from which Encore was taking the money out. What am I risking here?

Thank You

I'm confused. You are paying Encore but are still recieving monthly statements form the original creditor?

yes, Encore is collecting on behalf of Sears, I still get an invoice/statement from Sears that reflects the payments and the amount due for that month which is now a lot lower than what Encore was collecting monthly (Encore=$360.00, Sears=$71.00)
