I got a call from ER Solutions this morning about my WaMu account and I was told that the amount that I overdrafted ($1600) was a felony.

Anyone?

ER solutions is a bottomfeeder and WAMU is a horrible bank.how long was the account overdrawn?most banks give you at least 30 days to bring an account even.if being overdrawn was a felony,WAMU would have filed charges long ago.in short, garbage CA an empty threat.i know having dealt with them for my creditone cc.

WaMu doesnt even exist anymore as far as I knew--well, more accurately, they were just bought out this past week by J.P. Morgan. I dont know if I would call that a threat, but I can tell you that it is 100% illegal for a collector to claim that a debt, since it is purely a civil matter, is a crime. Owing a debt is not a crime--at least, owing a debt such as a WaMu bank debt is not a crime.

beware of wamu claims right now.. simply respond with a dv letter, asking them to contact you only in writing
