I received my first call (no letters prior to this)from Midpoint Resolution Group about 4 days ago. I answered the call and gave very general yes, nos and ohs to all the questions I was asked. He also told me that they were calling on their clients behalf and that I need to pay the balance within 48 hours or it would "go to court". I told them I couldn't speak to them at that time because I was at work. So since then Midpoint Resolution Group have called me everyday at least 5 times a day leaving messages saying he is calling from their legality (yes legality) group and they have tried to reach me for quite some time now (4 days??) and they either have to hear back from me or my representation by tonight.
From what I have researched this agency used to be called FCR (Federal credit Recovery) and they are out of Buffalo. I would like to send them a val. letter, but I do not have any type of account reference. Should I just send one out only including my name, or wait for their initial letter to arrive so I have some sort of reference number?
They do not scare me at all and I am not intimidated by their empty claims of court and legality (lol, I love that word)Just wondering if I should wait for the validation or if anyone else has had any dealings with Midpoint Resolution Group. Thanks.

Send payment within 48 hours, well Midpoint Resolution Group
has 30 days to take you to court now, if they don't that's a fdcpa violation, also when they told you 48 hours (where they have to send you a dunning letter within 5 days of initial contact, if they don't that is a FDCPA violation, and that letter has to include the notice of your right to dispute) this overshadows your right to dispute by trying to pressure you into action before that. That is overshadowing, which is another FDCPA violation. Let's see you have them on what looks like 1 violation already, once the five days are up that will be 3, if the fail to take you to court within 30 days that will be 4.
They must not get along with the FDCPA very well, otherwise they would follow it.

I recieved a call from Midpoint Resolution Group 1st from a woman, regarding my 23 year old son. I gave her his number. He talked to her gave her permission to talk to me. I talked to her and it was in regards to an old bank account of my sons that we paid off over a year ago, prior to his starting college. I explained this and was given to the Dir. of Operations (what a laugh) Ryan Walsh. This was the most rude, arrogant person I've talked to in some time. I tried to explain and he was yelling at me telling me that there was no way it was paid, he knew in fact it couldn't have been paid or they couldn't have bought the debt. Keep in mind I told him I'd pay the reduced amount, but I'd like 2 days to research my records to make sure I wasn't double paying. No Way! Said he will be going after my son with every legal aspect available to him, and if I didn't settle up today his credit and such would be hit tomorrow. The minute he said "sold debt" I was no longer so patient. I told him to do what he needs and I'll do what I need to do. They supposedly bought this debt from US Bank. the numbers they gave me were 1-866-600-3011 xt. 148 (Ms. Rogers) and 716-827-7771 Ext. 104 (Ryan Walsh Dir. of Operations) Caller Id showed the above 716 number and the other time 716-558-5933. How do we get Midpoint Resolution Group
to quit calling? Watch out for these guys. (This is the same group that harrassed my father-in-law for about 6 months before he passed away!) Have they no shame?

Send them a written request to only contact you via USPS or to not contact you at all. Send it certified mail, return receipt requested, that way you have proof.

I suggest you buy a tape recorder and check your local laws about recording calls. They violated so many laws when they had an account of mine. They told my father everything about my account (who they are collection for, amount I “owe” which was inflated 5x the amount, a settlement amount that I rejected). I question them why they would release such information to a 3rd party and they said, “He seemed concerned so we told him”. The first time they called me, they said if I didn’t pay right now, a sheriff would come to my work the next day to serve me court papers. Then they called a few days later saying pay or we will sue it. I told them I waited all day for the sheriff to come the last time but they never came. When you tell them you are not paying over the phone they will say you need to speak to my supervisor. The “supervisor” must google your address because he was saying, we filed this case in Franklin County Court, good luck. I was on the phone with him checking our court and nothing was filed. They even called me a few weeks after I sent a C&D letter. Let’s say after they got my debt validation, they never responded back and sold my account to another bottom feeder. So, I suggest, buy a taper recorder when dealing with this company, I could of used some extra $$$$. Sigh.

I was going to go through CCCS to pay my bills but I decided to call the collection agency instead. i pleaded my case to them and within two days the collector got word back from the client that the low settlement request they put in was approved. I can tell by the questions Jill was asking, the request was a very lengthy application process. In the short and long run, it was worth it and my bill was cut in half. Thank you Jill and Midpoint Resolution Group for going out of your way when it could have been just as easy to beat me up on something I lost control of when I lost my job.

Midpoint Resolution Group called my sister in Florida to try and find info on my brother in Ohio! Pretty sure they violated the fdcpa in the message they left. PLEASE don't let scumbags like this threaten you. Basically the worst they can due is sue you and get a judgement. You will NOT go to jail. They CANNOT have you arrested and if you instruct them properly, they can't even call you. BTW; debt-related matters are a civil item, not criminal. The only notice a sheriff would ever deliver of a financial nature is a notice of sheriff's sale or similar items involving a foreclosure on a home. Trust me, they are not going to deliver ANY kind of notice on behalf of some den of thieves that bought your credit card debt. They would be pretty busy nowadays, now wouldn't they? Any court notices for this type of debt would be sent via certified/registered mail. P.S. CCCS is usually a bad idea. Do-it-yourself debt negotiation is a better choice (certainly was for me). Google "Charles Phelan." I saved 30 grand using his book. Yes, that's how I know a lot on this topic...been there!

yep... i used to work there, don't hate on me though, it was a horrible mistake on my part. the people who own the company realize that illegal activity is going on through out the company, and refuse to do anything about it. They tend to fire anyone who bring illegal actions to light, and only care about bringing in the most money that they can. I highly suggest saving ALL messages left by them, and once someone says anything about LEGAL matters, or COURT to bring it to their attention, tell them you have passed the info to your lawyer (even if you haven't) and most likely they will leave you alone. To make sure they DO actually leave you alone, use words like fdcpa, and talk like you are actually going to take legal action, because you can, against them. This company does not have many employees, and is not very sound, all it will take is ONE big law suit to take them down, and I don't think they are willing to risk that over an old bank of america debt!!!!

They had called me first just like the others stated all about sending the sherriffs, but the only thing I let them intimidate me .He had told me if I didn't give him a promisary note over the phone hewas sending the sherriffs that night I kept telling him that I don't have that kind of money and he swore he would not cash it that it was just a promisary note. I had called him back 1 1/2 weeks later to assure he would not cash that check. I inthe mean time before that have hired a debt solution . Anyway they tried to cash that check afterall of course the money is not in there. Now they have called said they were a sherriff and if I didin't solve this matter in 48 hours that I would be arrested and serve 1 to 10 years in prison. I have a lawyer but what should I think. I'm scared.

First of all, DON'T BE UPSET!, Midpoint Resolution Group can't have you arrested! These scumbags are trying to frighten you, just tell them to go to he!!. Close your account or they will continue to try to take money from it. NEVER, NEVER give your bank information to scumbags such as this! Get an address and send them a Cese and Desist letter advising them to stop calling and to contact you by US mail only!

I spole to someone form their legal department. I owe 700 dollars and gave them 300. a month ago. I was told that I would get sued soon if I don't send in $350.00. I sent in 300 and was told to have the rest in by next month. I don't have the money I can only give them 150.00 How likely is it that I will get sued?
