Sub: #1 Nationwide recovery systems (NRS) – a collection agency

I haven't seen much on this site about Nationwide Recovery Systems (NRS) but thought I would share an article about their CEO - just lets everyone know what these debt collectors do with your money once they bilk it out of you - adding all of their fees and interest, etc.

Don't know about you, but excesses like this make me sick to my stomach. And NRS is a $600 million dollar company . . . I'll include a couple paragraphs from the story below but feel free to follow the link and read the rest of the story - know where your hard earned money is going.

Unfortunately, this is the hard truth. It's very sad to see the hard earned money of the working people going into the pockets of these jerks and enjoying luxuries. Just see how much they pay on their taxes. I hope that these people are caught by the IRS and heavily penalized.

Hi Sidh

Why do they need your social security number? DO NOT DO NOT disclose any personal information about yourself and your finances. In my opinion you should maintain a record of all the conversations you have with them, including the name of the caller, the date and time, the name of the company and what is said. You can send them a C&D letter via certified mail with a return receipt request. If you keep receiving harassing calls from them even after they receive the C&D letter then contact an attorney.

NRS isn't even close to a $600M company. In fact, the company is falling apart! Jerry Curtis hasn't been the CEO since 2004, by the way. They are bleeding money and they are run by a bunch of redneck morons. All you need to do is threaten to file a complaint with Cingular Wireless directly about their tactics and they will close your account and fold like a tent. This company is a serious joke....

thought i would toss this gem in if anyone ran across this. THEY WILL DO AND SAY ANYTHING. they refused to send a paper bill or send proof of debt and claimed the only method to resolve was to pay by check on the phone. Do not cave with these people deal directly with the company that sent you there and report anything you think is "funny" they should be shutdown for the amount of lies and manipulation they use. all I can say is don't expect them to reason with you unless your willing to be robbed.

I think that if you owe money to someone else you should pay. NRS agrees with companies to try and settle theor debtand they charge a hefty fee if they collect. there is nothing wrong with that, because lets face it, if you owe money to these companies are you really going to pay and be a man of your word? if it wasn't for coll;ection companies, creditorswould be out alot more money. I woulod rather get 20% of something than 100% of nothing. I will say that NRS has some of the most stupid sales people and they are very rude and do not know how to sell properly. Also, I think that the company will soon fold or downsize dramatically because of poor leadership. In my opinion, a great collections company would truely help debtors with payout system and not try to harass them. If you are nice and friendly, you will get more in return, afterall, its about working soemthing out.

We received a call from the 800-387-5658 x 2596 Mrs. Brooks for a person we have never even heard of. Threating messages but a total flake... the phone # only says Adminstrator not even a company name when you call.

DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION!!!

Never had anything on my report from a cell phone company!! These people are dispicable humans that don't now what what it means to be professional!! Oh wait...my phone is ringing again! It was them again...they told me I have to pay through them! I stated that I spoke with AT&T and am dealing with them, then they tried to get out of me how much i paid!! OMG!!! I received an email from NRS concerning an illegal PDL that I had overpaid. I stopped paying the PDL...closed my account and requested a letter of PIF with a refund. They didn't like it and turned the account over to NRS. When I got the email from NRS, I emailed in repsonse - asked for a DV and their license number for Alabama. I also sent a certified letter - which I never got a receipt for. That was 3 months ago almost. I've emailed and requested the information several time - at least once a week. I get no response. I'm thinking I'll email the PDL that sent them to me and demand my PIF AND my refund again. Any suggestions?

Sounds to me like a lot of crying by a bunch of debtors and some ex-employees. NRS is a great company to work for and works hard for there clients. If you do not like them calling you then pay your bill.

I am glad that NRS is a great company for you to work for. However, maybe you should get to know some of the people that have complaints about NRS.
I DID in fact pay my bills - in fact I OVERPAID. I stopped the ACH's on my PDL because they kept taking money out of my checking account after the loan had been paid back. When I stopped, they turned it over to NRS. I requested Debt Validation - I got nothing. I sent a certified letter - it was never signed for. I sent several emails stating that I was anxious to get the matter cleared up - I received no reply. I haven't heard anything from them since January. Guest - I AM a person who pays my bills....unfortunately the people you pay your bills to aren't always professional.
Now...if you can tell me why NRS hasn't answered ANY of my coorespondence - that would be helpful to me.
Since you work for them.....and they are such a great company, please be of some help.
