Yeah the "good luck" at the end of voice mail messages was definitely a gimmick of Il-Legal Mediation Mal-Practice; I have two messages I saved from them with that being thrown in at the end. Also the "case being filed" against you was something LMP used; the first woman that contacted me from there used the exact same verbiage, trying to make it sound like an attorney's office.

I don't know if I've ever heard of the "your SSN and DL has been red flagged" before. I would ask them exactly what that means, while taping the phone call, when you call them back. Be sure to check your state's laws regarding taping phone calls.

Whether or not this is just another version of Il-Legal Mediation Mal-Practice operating under a shiny new wrapper is irrelevant. H & P Capital has come out of the gates heavily violating the fdcpa! You need to file complaints against them with your state's Attorney General's office, the Florida Attorney General's office, and the Federal Trade Commission.

If you click on the link I posted above with "H&P" at the end of the title, you will find their mailing address and phone number (no fax number yet, I'll keep looking) on that document. In addition to filing complaints with the above entities, you should also send a debt validation/limited cease and desist letter to these bozo's! Be sure to send it certified mail/return receipt requested. Once they sign for this letter, if they continue to harass you (and I'll bet my left leg they probably will) then you can sue them for violation of the FDCPA.

Lets get these jokers closed down faster than it took to shut down Il-Legal Mediation Mal-Practice!

I received a call at work about three weeks ago from H&P Capitol and they threatened me at work and everything. I ended up paying them a little over 700.00 dollars. Does anyone know if I can get my money back? and if so how can I go about getting my money back? Thankyou this would really help.

This is very interesting, I received a call last week from Mr. Jacob Goldstein 904-672-1023 x280 stating that he was a representative from a Payday loan company and they wanted to settle this debit so they will not have to take legal matters. Well I agreed to setup arrangements and they asked me to fax a letter of authorization.

I received a call this week and Mr. Goldstein was not the nice person I talked with last week he was very angry that I did not fax over my debit card and license and informed me I had until the end of the day on Tuesday of this week to send it or he will have to go to other means. He also stated that he was not going to risk losing a 10million dollar account because of me.

Now that stuck with me 10 million dollar account, so they are not out to collect debt but to get your money. So I am hesitating on sending my information. I looked them up and could not find anything but this post.

I am concerned that they are stealing money.

Guest, you wouldn't happen to still have that fax number he gave you, would you? Post it here, if you do please.

As for the Guest that wanted to know if you can get your money back, I seriously doubt it. I personally don't know of any way; however, I'll bump this topic back to the top of the list and see if anyone else can offer any advice.

Rule of thumb, never, ever, ever, ever, ever, give a collection agency any money or any of your banking information, until they validate the debt they are attempting to collect on. This is actual hard-copy validation in your hand, not their say so over the phone. And if you work out any type of payment arrangement or pay-for-delete type plan, be sure to get it in writing, up front, before the first payment is ever made.

Any reputable CA should have no problems with this at all.

They can NOT have you arrested! If anyone shows up at your job or home have them arrested for criminal trespass!

Yeah so I got a call from that lady, Stacey Boyd earlier this week. Our conversation went just about the same as the others mentioned above. She said if I didn't pay my debt there would be a filing against me and they would come for me either at my job or home. I explained to her my situation and her reply was like well go borrow money from some people so you can pay me. She said if I didnot pay I would be charged with, Theft by Check. After I got off the phone with her I began to think is what she said even legal? I did not give them a check, better yet they bought the debt from another company. I am not in CA but in TX. My question is has anyone paid them or have they gone through with their threats? She was very rude and I do not plan on sending any money to this company.

Doesn't look like H&P has the required bond registered with the TX SOS. Report them to the TX AG &SOS.

I recieved a call from Thomas Johnson (866-612-1284) at H&P telling me that papers would be filed today and if I didn't want to be embarassed at work, I needed to contact them immediately. I called spoke to Mr. Johnson and was told that since it was my "first offense" it would be possible to work something out. I told him not to contact me at work, he stated that he would not, but that I would be arrested there. I hung up and will not deal with him. The first call was at 9:30 this morning, I have had 3 calls since then.
