Welcome to the community greatdaymichelle.

I tried researching this number but I was unable to find any information on it aside from the fact that the exchange is invalid meaning that 834 is not a part of a valid 866 toll free number.

Thanks. I find it very interesting that the 834
is an invalid exchange like they are trying to conceal who they are ...

I called the number, they say the name of the agency so fast it's hard to understand but it sounds like they said Garfield and Associates. Not sure if it is a law office or a collection agency that just wants to sound like a law office.

That is great that you live in Texas. Texas finance code grants you extra protection when dealing with collection agencies.

CA Attorney at Law, Bar#180683

Bud Says…

What do you call a bottom feeder that is collecting for a bottom feeder? A vulture? A parasite? I would call them future unemployed debt collectors as the market of debts available to collect continues to shrink. My first glimpse at this organization was a letter sent out that shows the name; ‘Merid ian Management Solutions’ with an 888# and a PO Box in Carson, CA.

When I ran the name through several search engines nothing came up, no CA or NV corporations, no license, no bonds no nothing. When I called the 888# the recorded response was…”You have reached The Minority Legal Network…” HUH? …This is a debt collector! So why are they going to so much trouble to hide that fact?

In their letter they state: “…or call our Law Firm at 888-459.0999 and work out arrangements for payment” Unfortunately Meri dian Management Solutions is NOT a law firm, it is a collection agency posing as “Minority Legal Network” which is REALLY the debt collection law office of Debt Collector Attorney Erica Lynn Brachfeld, CA attorney bar #180683.

Apparently Erica must not be that good at collecting debts or she would not be working for one of the worst bottom feeders in America, Resurgent Capital, aka LVNV Funding, Greenville, SC for a commission of 25% of what is collected. She is also misleading consumers in her letters which will delight consumer attorneys who choose to litigate her obvious shortcomings.

This clearly illustrates why no one should ever deal with a bottom feeders, bottom feeder. There is no guarantee that you will benefit in anyway by sending them money, especially with he terrible reputation of Resurgent/LVNV. We warn anyone who receives calls or notices from this desperate debt collection organization to PASS! The odd of them being around are not good, they already feeding off of someone else, what does that tell you?

Contact me if you need assistance with Debt Collector, Attorney, Erica Lynn Brachfeld and her cluster of names, we can offer you assistance.

That was what Bud Hibbs had to say about them. Now then, I guess that means that the only legal council that actually works there is a rent a lawyer but it's licensed as a collection agency. They are no law firm.

Yes, Texas gives you some really big teeth to bite the CAs with! You can DV them and by Texas law they -have- to send that validation, or they have to remove the item from the credit report. If they don't, or if they continue to collect, then you can sue them for not less then $100 per violation, and then you can treble that with the deceptive trade practice chapter of the buisness and commerce code.

Yes they can, however I believe it may trigger the mandatory dunning letter within 5 days per FDCPA.

Would that be 5 business days or just 5 days ..
Thanks..
Also in Texas how long does the CA have to Validate ?
I sent a letter to Mann Bracken on another account
02/16/2008 and I got their response postmarked April 15 the inside letter said April 10th .. that was added beside the original date of March 31...
having never seen a Validation letter from a CA before I just don't know what passes for one .. It does not look like what I would have thought it should look like ... They got some notary from Bextar country to notarize for a Chase agent in that same county.. I live in the Ft Worth Area .. They gave the charge off amount but as a lot of fees etc were added on making the balance higher than what my credit limit had been but they did not break this down like I asked or their license info ...
Thanks

It would be five business days (USPS)

They have 45 days to validate before they have to remove all items from your credit report.

Validation mainly consists of documentation from the original creditor (statements, contract) computer generated fluff that they may want to send does not constitute validation.
