I was sued by a county ("complaint for money open account") for the alleged cost of inadequate medical care at their county hospital. Anyway, I signed a Stipulation for Judgment to pay $25 per month. Its been almost 10 years... suddenly the county refused to accept my monthly payment claiming they couldn't credit payment, unknown account! Then 90 days later I got an Abstract of Judgment (?) about 60 days ago, i received a Notice of Renewal of Judgment from the court. How do I dismiss this?

When your payment wasn't accepted, what did you do?

It sounds as if the judgement was expired and they had to renew it to continue collecting the payments, it is odd that they did not put this in place when they originally set up the payment plan. If it takes ten years to pay it off then it should have stipulated that the judgement would have been in place unitl the pay off was complete. Have you contacted the court on this, that is what I would do, go to the clerk of courts and ask them what your course of action should be. Or call an attorney, goodluck, hope you find resolution on this, please keep the forum updated.

There is nothing you can do. They already have a judgment against you.
Usually, you give a stipulated judgment that they hold in case you don't pay. It sounds like they filed the judgment anyway.
