2 Months now. Nothing from them. Any Ideas what they might be doing? I have looked up SD court system to see if they have filed anything.

3 months now and have heard nothing. I DV LVNV Since they showed up on my Credit report with the debt. I also filed a dispute. We will see what happens.

Why do you think they have not contacted me or sent anything at all? I have kept up with SD Courts to make sure they are not trying to sneak a judgment passed me.

I just got a letter from them stating that verification has been received. Howerever we have returned this file to our client, and have ceased collection activities. Therefore we will not be able to assist you inĀ* obtaining the requested info.
This is a law firm is a debt collector attempting to collect a debt. However this file has been closed.
Interesting. They have sent it back to LVNV Funding.

Thanks for your continued updates on your experience. I just DV'd WWR two weeks ago and will be waiting to see what happens next. At least the DV stopped them from continuing to call me. lol

You should cut right to the offender. Whoever is the one reporting on your credit report...LVNV is KNOWN to play musical collectors and will happily shove an account all over the place in an effort to frustrate your right to validation. Attack the one doing the reporting, since by law they can't just 'close' the account without also closing out the account on the credit report.

Also if you get a collection letter from someone claiming to collect for another company, if that company is NOT the original creditor, then send THAT company your validation request. You then send a letter to the contacting company that you have send their client a debt validation letter and are informing them of same, that the debt in question is now under validation and no continued collection activity may take place until the validation request is satisfied.
