Lets say you deal with one of the bad collection agencies and are not that knowledgeable of your rights. So you are essentially threatened into paying the debt without proper validation. Now, you find that the collection agency, in addition to violating the fdcpa, is not licensed to collect in your state.
Could you sue despite the fact that you paid the debt? Also, could you sue any collection agency who collected money from you if they are not licensed in your state?
If so...wow...do I have some ammunition....
