I sent them a DV letter 10 days after I got a letter from them. I just looked at my credit report and this is what they put:

How the hell can they put this on my credit report? It wasn't there when I sent the DV letter, I never got a response and now it's on there.

Guest, I can't answer your question, but I'm sure if you hang in there, someone will be along who can. Things are often kind of slow on the weekends. Everyone is busy doing other things!

I have several on my report like that. I don't know how to get them to stop either. Even when I request validation they don't send it.

If you've sent a DV letter, CMRRR, keep the green card. Then dispute it with the CRAs. If it's not removed timely, send the CRA a letter demanding removal as unvalidated. Enclose copies of your letter and the little green card.

Looks like Midland violated the FDCPA by continuing collection activity (reporting to a consumer reporting agency is considered to be collection activity per FTC) after validation has been requested.

Look at the dates too. It says reported since 12/2007 but opened 5/2008. Did they have a time machine?

I could only dispute it online with Experian and wasn't sure which one to pick so I put not my account.

That's nothing, I have two listed by Midland with an opening date of 1/1/0001

Let me know what you do about your problem and if it works please, I am tired of dealing with these people.

OK, I just diputed it and already got the results back from Experian. I never got validation from them in the mail. This is what it shows now:
