What evidence does one need to mount an SOL defense re a credit card against a third-party collector? (Credit card from 1993 - New York)?

I would think that as long as you haven't made a payment within the SoL that it is upon them to prove that you have. I wold request a debt verification. There are many templates avaliable on this site.

DEMAND at once!!!-- if they provided their address --and send to them immediately a debt validation and a demand for their signed certified letter of verified receipt ( do not send a simple certified letter)--debt validation request and denial of claims--this party from 1993 will have to prove everything ! before they can actually do anything from what I have learned from wonderful people on this sight of course!--don't deal with them on phone---get proper debt validation in writing from them before proceeding or doing anything!!! I wish you the best!!!!
