I have an interesting situation with National Action Financial as well. They are harrasing me over a blockbuster movie I decided to keep. Which has been store policy in the past: If you want to keep the movie, no problem we will charge your account for it. Apparently Blockbuster never charged my account the $29.95. I called Blockbuster and they told me the collection letter was "Just a friendly reminder" to which I told Blockbuster employee that it was not a friendly reminder but a threat. She assured me it was taken care of but today I get a threatening phone call from National Action Financial. This time I email Blockbuster corporate and told them exactly what was going on. Today I am marching down to my local Blockbuster and making their stupid employee physically charge my account in my presence then I will probably never rent from them again. I have been a loyal customer for many years and this is just plain BS. They had no right to take any action what so ever when all they had to do was charge me for the movie; as per our long standing agreement. I heard Blockbuster was in serious financial trouble, now I can clearly see why. Hell no I am not paying National Action Financial they can go to hell.

One more thing. When NAF contacted my answering machine they left ALL of the information regarding my Blockbuster account on my machine without verifying my identity since my answering machine cannot "dial". Secondly when you call the number they already have your information without you inputting your reference number. Thirdly; NAF does not allow you to speak with anyone at all threw their call back number instead they do have to option for payment; Credit card or bank account. Wow nice way to obtain my credit or banking info threw a single phone call. Pay your creditor directly. I was blown away when I called to try to resolve this. No fricken way would I even consider for a moment giving this company my information. $29.95 and the movie sucked lol.

Went to Blockbuster to pay this found out they didn't have my cc info correctly in their system. Although their system also said that they billed me the $29.95, the associate had to call over the manager to figure out that they had the wrong info in their system. A card btw that had expired 6 months ago and the new card was not showing...of course it wasn't. "We" updated it. I asked if this is now taken care of and the manager said "Oh would you like to then pay this now?" Come on really?, seriously?, of course I said yes but not before wondering how someone so ignorant made manager. I should of said "Of course not I would love for your collection agency to continue to harass me more so I would love it more if someone acturally showed up on my door step Christmas morning demanding your $29.95 dumbass". I tried to give back the movie and they wouldn't take it lol. I said "Well I guess I can try and sell it on ebay then" Lesson learned, don't rent from blockbuster unless I am sure I am going to return the movie promptly. Do not rely on blockbusters word, do not assume that they will follow their own policy, and check into Netflix now.

They call me daily and when I call back they say my number is not on file nor is my name in thier data base. This has been going on for 6 weeks. They say they will stop the calls, but they don't. Any ideas? I don't owe any debts.

just wanted to let you how "professional and educated" sound. This company is trying to collect a debt from a minor child whom has never even had a line of credit, good or bad. Seriously you guys are "bottom Feeders" how sad

I have been getting voicemails on my phone for a couple of weeks now, but the problem was that I did not know who was calling. An automated message was being left that was cut off from the beginning. It never said a company name, and I only got the last 3 digits of the phone number- 519. The part of the message that I could hear stated that it was a Mr. Lynch was has been trying to contact me, and I have been unresponsive. For once, I was not at work when they called yesterday, and I was able to pick up and listen to the whole message- not an actual person on the other line! It was NAFS. I called back today and asked what it was in regards to. A few years ago I had a serious situation which left me hospitalized and homeless for a long time. I have been trying to repair my credit for a long time now, so I assumed that this was just a legitimate call to collect another debt. Right away the person asked the number that was being dialed. I told him my number, and he said is this your social and read off my FULL SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER!!!!! Are you kidding me? Many people will nto give socials over the phone and this company is just blurting them out without even confirming who is on the line! When I asked what debt it was for- they told me a Verizon Wireless debt from 2004. Strange.........I am looking at a copy of the cashed check (which I always save) that I paid Verizon Wireless directly for back in January of 2006.Last year I got a letter from a different collection agency called Pinnacle, which I found out now they are affiliated, trying to collect on the same debt, which I disputed and sent them my proof from Verizon that it was Paid in Full. The company apologized, sent a letter confirming that the debt is paid in full, and never contacted me again. Verizon has been my cell phone carrier since I paid off this debt in 2006. I explained this to the NAFS rep, and all he replied is "what are your intentions to settle this debt?" I told him it was invalid, and that my intentions were to dispute it with the letter I have from verizon and the letter I have from Pinncle showing the debt as paid. He quickly hung up on me.......

I had a debt I knew about, but they never called me on it as they bought it 2 years ago. I got a credit report trying to fix my credit (finally got a job) and they actually went out of their way to get me a confirmation letter acknowledging that I paid the debt in full and that the account was closed. They called me back in 48 hours and faxed the letter to me. Now the manager who was helping the guy I was working with (the associate named William) was a real winner! In a bad way, feel the biting sarcasm??? However, william made it all happen with another night manager.

Sorry folks, it WAS MY debt, and I couldn't run any longer. I am sure none of you can relate as it seems everyone owes nothing, and that's cool. Unfortunately, that's not me, but I fixed my credit and I am good to go now. At least until I have eyes bigger than balance issues.
We are all only human, the crap-ola sandwich got served up and most took a bite, there isn't any shame in that, but take responsibility when you can and quit ducking out, stand up and freaking pay the bill. Credit used to mean nothing in the early days, but now the dollar sucks so bad, it's a needed evil.
Sorry if I don't tote the party line, but no one should pay my bills but me.
