NCO- any advice

According to: Proper negotiation boosts your credit rating in the article section:"Paid Charge-off or Paid Collection Account: This status is equivalent as showing the same debt unpaid. It is quite common for an account to be deleted once the payment is complete. The creditor now has no interest to keep the negative listing on your report. Thus in most cases it is a good idea to settle the listing status even if the creditor does not take the initiative to delete the negative listing."

This is what is on my current CR:

NCO FIN/27
Account Number: 812XXXX
Acct Type: Collection Department / Agency / Attorney
Acct Status: Closed
Monthly Payment:
Date Open: 9/1/2007
Balance:
Terms: 1 Month
High Balance:
Limit:
Past Due:
Payment Status: Paid, was a collection account, insurance claim or government claim or was terminated for default

How do I go about asking them to remove it? Or can I?

At the very least you can dispute it for being incomplete. NCO didn't learn their lesson last time they were sued by the FTC for reporting inaccurate or missing past due dates and were fined $1,500,000

You may wish to file a complaint with the FTC for their willful disregard of their consent decree.

Who does NCO collect for? THey constantly call and leave automated messages and when I call back they leave me on hold forever...Who has time for that?

NCO collects on old debts and new ones. A very large agency with collectors of dubious background. They are rated in Bud Hibbs website as Americas worst! JCMENT is correct in what he is saying!

so i should dispute it with the credit bureaus or with these turds? it was 70 bucks to Bank of America that i refused to pay, but once it went to collection i knew i didn't want it on my credit report so i just paid- but now it says that- which doesn't help me at all!

Confused I just noticed it doesn't even have a balance. Dispute it with the credit reporting agencies. Also send a debt validation letter to NCO. These people must not be very smart...

Since it is a p aid debt you can attempt to dispute it with the CBR agencies under paid creditor agreed to remove, I think. They may not take the time to even bother validating it with the CBR agencies since it is a paid account.

You can dispute anything on your credit report. The burden of proof is on the company that reported it. Like FYI said they may not even bother to reply. Then it is off!

If they have their money in full, I don't see why they would bother with it.

To dispute it all you need to do is go to each of the credit reporting bureaus websites and file disputes online.
