I had a check returned for NSF only because my deposit had not posted in time (couple of hours). What happens now? Will it automatically be resubmitted in a 2nd attempt or not?

Call the creditor and ask them. Some automatically redeposit a second time. Some will try to contact you first to see if it will clear.
