I think if you owe anyone anything they can show up on your door step if they know where you live? How is this a violation if you owe them moeny but have not paid the debt you agreed to? Our entire banking system is defaulting because people purchased items and dont think they should pay now? Everyone should honor their debts if they expect anyone else in the next 10 years to honor any debt they promise to pay?

Guest:
So what you're saying is if you owe ANYTHING at all, be it your light bill, phone bill, whatnot, that means that they can show up on your doorstep to harass you?? Sound familiar? How about loan sharking--as that the kind of tactic a loan shark would use.
In this case, Golden has acknowledged she owes the debt, and has contacted the creditor several times re payment arrangements. It's not like she's been avoiding them (which MIGHT warrant a visit)--but she hasn't, and is really trying to work on paying this debt.
This creditor has been getting phone calls from Golden and still chooses to harass her. So I say what goes around comes around and let's hear it for Golden!

Well guest, apparently they CAN'T come up to your door, since the police did come out and issued the woman a trespass warning, so they can't. Nothing gives anyone the right to harass, even if you owe them money. Instead of harassing people, these places should go through LEGAL channels to recover their money.

This company ut me through so much harassment that as of now I consider this debt paid in full. If they don't like it, they can take me to court, kicking and screaming...and countersuing for the harassment with all my recordings and the trespass warning issued by the police department..I will let THEM pay the debt for me.

Serves them right.

but I wonder what a judge would say ... yes, they were jerks, and did illegal and just plain wrong things to try and collect the debt. BUT the debt was owed ... maybe the judge would grant them the remaining $150.00 that you owed to them, and then grant you $5,000.00 in punitive damages or something based on your cross-complaint?

Yeah, that is what I mean....take my nice tidy little damages award and pay them off with that. I have even talked with the references that they have been continually calling as well, despite the fact they know exactly how to get in touch with me.....all of them are willing to sign affidavits AND come to court to recount all the calls they had been getting as well....it really would be a slam dunk.

Can you believe it? Good Ol' Beverly called this morning bright and early at 8 am. She called from a different number, not the one they usually do..I would have answered it if I wasn't half asleep at the time and fumbling with the phone. She left a voice mail...snotty voice as ever, telling us we have to cal her immediately...

I did notice she did not threaten us with a home visit...gee..I wonder why..

They must not want to get paid..I warned them. Now they will not see one red penny from me on this. They can go jump off a cliff for all I care.

damn... what a story. hang in there Golden. You are very strong and you will again be back on your feet. I believe I would contact a NACA attorney now and start the ball rolling on a suit. Also, I would contact your state AG and make damn sure a complaint was lodged.

I second that advice! I'd sue the pants off of Bev and that loan company!

Are there any laws in TX that are applied to the OC's? I know if that bee-yotch were doing that to me here in FL, I would have already gone after under Florida's Fair Consumer Collection Practices Act. The $150 would have been more than taken care of out of the money she would be owing me once I finished with her.

Does Bev own this company or is she just an employee?

I have to wonder if she is just an employee does she get any kind of rewards for her persistence? I sure hope so, because I'm sure once one of her victims snaps and severely injures or, Heaven forbid, kills her on one of her "house calls" I'm sure that company wouldn't contribute one thin dime to her hospital and/or funeral expenses.

I wouldn't even return her call. Just keep a recording of the message and take a picture of your CID with the new number in it, so you have them handy when you do sue her.

Miss Bev sounds like a real idiot to me!

Wow. I cannot believe the length at which they tried to chase down less than $150. Unbelievable. Just from a time/value perspective, it isn't worth that kind of effort, or the possible cost of defended herself against a harrassment lawsuit. Crazy. Good job Goldenblast.

Wow. And double wow. Some people just don't get it, do they Golden? After all is said and done and the smoke clears, Good ol Bev might have won the battle, but she's definately lost the war. Hope that $150 was worth it for her, cuz it's going to cost her waaay more than that when you get finished!
And for that, you are definately one of my people of the week, Golden! I am very proud of you for standing up to this idiot woman.

This goes WAY beyond harassment, and I would make certain that the FTC and your State's AG is aware of their tactics.

The gall of this company is just....unbelievable! Now they call everyday! Oh, and Beverly left another cute message, this time to go visit my hubby's work! I would love to see that since my husband works for the state prison.

I am done with it. She has finally snapped my last nerve. I am going to start answering the phone and once again keep informing them of this harassment and I am going to let hem repeat everything all over again........into my microphone. I am getting my tax return soon and a part of it is now going to pay the filing fees for the harassment lawsuit I am going to slap her and that company silly with.
