I received a phone call from an Attorney's office representing them saying that they were in the process of notifying the courts in Alabama about a lawsuit. I told the lady "ok" simply because she told me the amount was for $600+ and I bored that money over a year ago and had made more than what I borrowed before I stop making payments. I tried to get them to close the account, but they wouldn't so I closed my bank account. Can they do this, or has anyone else received a phone call?

Do you know if they are lending legally in your state. I doubt that they will do this. I personally think it is a scare tactic to get you to pay. How much did you borrow and how much did you repay?

According to the Alabama Department of Banking, the only legal online lender is cashnetusa (I think). I do know that there is only one loan company licensed to do business here and paychecktoday isn't it.
Not really sure how much I borrowed, it was either $300 or $500. This was back from around November of 2006 and I was paying them bi-weekly up until around Nov.-Dec. 2007. That's when I started contacting all of my PDL companies about closing my account.
