Can A Collector Back Out of a Payment Agreement? for any other reason than failure to pay as agreed? Looking it up but maybe someone knows the answer right off hand. actually the collector couldn't believe they had went into a payment agreement. i have the letter and read it to them in attempt to get them to update my payments on my CR's. this will be NCO the collector's from %^&* Smile

If you received that in writing, and it's signed, that would make it a contract, that would be my guess. I'll let someone who knows for sure answer this one, I'm at work and can't research it right now. Smile

Most business agreements in writing would fall under general written contract law in my opinion.As always consult a attorney if you want opinion on your local laws.
