CA no longer wants to work with payment arrangements

As some of you know. I had a loan with Cash Call. Well......Cash Call 'sold' my loan, to a CA. I made good, affordable arrangements with them and had been paying them the last few months. This month I had some unexpected things come up and called to let them know. And to see what other payment plan I could arrange. First of all, the rep I had talked to ( someone who din't handle my case ORIGINALLY) told me I couldn't make other arrangements. I asked to speak to the person to handles my case...I was told, " she no longer speaks to clients." How would I get this handled then?? I asked about other options. I was told I din't have any. I was ALSO told that they are, " not a CA, that they were a firm." ( What the hell does THAT mean?) This is NOT what they told me from the beginning. The rep, I spoke to, said since I couldn't make a payment this month, that they would "stop all arrangements and have their Legal Department review this." Then they hung up on me. That just frutrated me to no end!! At least I DID find out that the loan will stay at 5% instead of 99%, like it was at Cash Call. I told the company I'm trying to take care of this...they said they would, " contact me in the future." Any advice??

I look at it this way......all I can do is take things 'one at a time'. Pay off what I can, little by little.

Keep sending in what payments that you can. Keep a record of it so if they continue to say they won't accept arrangements and try to take you to court, you have evidence of making the payments. They say they won't accept arrangements but I bet they still cash you MO or however you are paying.

Wait a couple of days and call back and try to get someone else. Someone else may be willing to work with you.

I would keep sending in what you can with a copy of of it for your files. If they try to litigate you will want to use "abuse of process" as a defense to a lawsuit as they are trying to use a judge to force things when you are already doing your best to pay them.

SD- the others are right- and Cajun hit it on the head- keep copies of everything,a nd notes of phone calls!

I did this with a CA, and read back to them what they had told me, and when-took them by surprise!

I,too, had to change my payment sarrangements with one. They pressured and threatened me into paying alot more than we could. So after being here on the forums a while, I called them back. I told them I would be sending them xx dollars a month by money oreder-they said it is unacceptable and hung up. I did send the xx dollars a month by money order-kept copies of everything, and they haven't turned it down.

I don't imagine a judge would be really happy if you are making an honest effort and making payments, and they take you to court!

Also, the best thing, is to do correspondence via mail. You won't get anywhere with them on the phone, and it will only upset you.

I cannot say it enough- document and keep copies of everything!! Good Luck..karen Very Happy

I thought I have read about them on here before. I did check out the link that debtstinker posted. Looks like a good site on them that you could get all the information you need there. I am going to google the forums to see if there were previous post.

Hey sdchargers, put the name in the search engine on this page, you will find some other posts on them and some folks that have dealt with them directly. Goodluck, I know these situations are very frustrating, wish I could send my cashcall loan to them to get the break in the intrest, not sure what cashcall would do with it though, can't tell how they decide to sue or give to collection. How did that all go for you?

Well...I called, again, tonite. i wanted to speak to the rep who ORIGINALLY had my loan. I was told she, " wasn't available", and, " no longer handles your loan." Ok......fine. I was also told if I wanted to make " new arrangements", the payments, per month, would be higher. I told the company I just couldn't do that. How frustrating. i think I decided to just send what I can, per month, and get a reciept for it( ie..Money Order). That's the best option right now.

My advice would also be to copy each money order before you send it off to them so that you have some sort of documentation of your payments. I also wonder if the first rep got promoted and is some sort of manager--would be worth trying to get ahold of her.

Have you asked to speak to a manager? Sometimes they will be a little more cooperative, especially if the customer representatives are working on a commission. See if you can get a manager on the line, you may get different results.

I think the account status was changed from a "good" payer, to a broken arrangement. The collectors will likely try to intimidate you in order to coerce your payment. I would doubt that you actually reached the same desk...your call was probably transferred to a different dept; the original collector may not be eligible to earn commission on your account now, and won't (if not going to get paid)/can't (per company policy) work your account.
