I recently was scammed using PayPal and now I have a negative balance on my account. I was scammed really badly and Paypal won't believe me. Call me stubborn, but I'm not paying a charge that I didn't make. Now Paypal contacted a collection agency on me! I wrote the collection agency and told them that the claim was fraudulent but I'm afraid that they're going to lower my credit score! Is there anything that they can do if they don't have my current address, credit card, or SSN? The only information they have is my old address, cell number, and bank information. Please help....I'm wicked stressed out about this and I'm afraid that I'm going to have to suffer from some guy ripping me off. I'm never using the internet again.

Did you contact the payment service with which you used to fund your pay pal account. You could file a formal dispute with those folks, if they find that the usage was fraudulent; paypal would be forced to cease and desist activity.

Have you filed a police report? that should be your first course of action. That way there is an official record of what you are stating happened.
