I get this message to call about a current investigation with a file number. My caller ID says Peak Financial, listed on Bud Hibbs site as the lowest of the low. I was surprised that my search on this site came up empty. Has anyone here had any experience with them? I am expecting I will be harrassed which is OK because I need new material to write about.

Frog, I have not dealt with them, but as an FYI, I have used Bud Hibbs to deal with one of my problems. I emailed them and they were helpful, providing suggestions and clarification....just in case you need the assistance.

Yes, but.....
Using the 'least sophisticated consumer' test, that could cause some anxiety and the like. I'd start documenting, and let this become Exhibit A.

I get so sick of messages like that. I get them good though. I call them (recording!!) and I act like a terrified person, asking about 'what investigation' and 'what is going to happen to me?' Then I let them hang themselves on tape.

LOL!
Good one GoldenBast! I'd be willing to bet those two phrases are pretty much all that would be required for the CA to hang themselves, too. They would probably just take it from there with no additional prompting required.
It just kills me when they call a debtor leaving cryptic messages like that, about some ominous "investigation." What reallly makes me sad aobut these types of messages are the people that actually fall for them.
Tragic.

My lawyer advised me to ignore the calls and just keep a log of what was said and when. I have not heard from them since that one message but I am sure I will, especially when it gets near the end of the month and they are trying to meet their quota. Thanks for the responses. I was off yesterday getting a stress test and others!
