Hi,

I recently sent certified letters to 2 Collection companies for DV.
How long do they have to respond with proper documentation I requested?

Thanks for your help!

There is no specific time frame by law. They just cannot continue collecting until they reply with the information you request.

What exactly did you request?? Hopefully you didnt copy a crappy DV off the internet.

There is no specific set time for the response but usually if they don't respond within 30 days with the proper documents, you can send them a C&D letter.

Where are you coming up with this crap?? There is no time limit and until they do produce the proper documents, they cannot attempt to collect on the debt which means NO CONTACT.

I am getting so fed up (as are the other moderators) with the garbage you unregistered posters are posting when attempting to answer questions. You are playing with peoples financial lives and could cause people to get sued...if you cannot back your answers up with fact or legal references, DO NOT answer. Most of you have no clue what you are talking about.
