I have a question. Can you ask the collection agency to return the original debt back to the original creditor?

I think that if the creditor still owns the debt they can recall it or the CA can send it back if there is a problem with it like ID Theft or Fraud.

Generally the answer is no. In contingency collections, the OC and the CA are bound by a contract...the CA works the account and gets paid regardless of who the debtor sends the funds to.
When a debt is sold, as with most junk debt buyers, the OC is taken completely out of the picture.
