So I received another email from Dustin from SJM Marketing telling me that they are located in Nevis West Indies and that they do not have to follow Florida laws. What do I do now?

Tell them to go you know where! If they are in the West Indies they can't collect from you. Like drugs. Just say no! That is good news because they have no options at all. Tell them because you are in Florida you don't have to abide by West Indian Law. Works both ways!

SJM or any other loan company must be licensed in the borrower's state before they do their lending business. If they are really from West Indies, how come they do business in the US without a license? It seems like they are putting in the open about their illegal activities.

What happens to all the previous loan accounts they had with the consumers in the US? Are they all null and void?

I dont believe for a minute they are in the West Indes they are just telling that bull. These companies are so crazy it amazes me. They think we are idiots. WE are a little smarter than they think. Dont you agree? KYSIDE38

I agree.. These companies will come up with their craps anytime. Even if they said they were in the US, they had to follow the laws of the state where they lend to the borrowers. Saying that they are located out of the country, this just makes the whole story distinct about their illegal business. I guess the AG will be happy to investigate on the company when they see their mail of not being in the country.
