Of all the CA's I've read about on this site, I don't recall anything being mentioned about Stanley Weinberg & Associates.
Anyone know anything about Stanley Weinberg & Associates
They are located in Glen Ellyn, IL.

I received a call from someone called Robert Sullivan from Stanley Weinberg & Associates. He called me from the number 630-790-4000 and was very rude. By chance, are you getting the calls from the same person?

My original debt was with Providian as well. Sorry, but I'm not following you
(collecting for cach).
What is cach?
I have not talked with anyone from WW&R yet.
How are they to deal with?

It kind of confusing, I am getting mixed messages. I filed an answer to my suit at my local court house. Requested debt validation from WW&R, got a bogus affadavit that I am challenging as proper debt validation. Still looking stuff up on them as we speak.

I found a site in an earlier thread about WW&R, it lead me to law.com, I did a search on the first W (Weinberg), seems the whole state of Indiana is filing a class action on them for misrepresentation of debt collection lawsuits and unfair debt collection practice, interesting read. I have read so much on these guys, my eyes are tired. They just sent me a copy of an old bill with an affidavit from someone claiming to work for providian as debt validation. Not enough for me, So I am sending out another certified letter to them tomorrow, requesting for the 3rd time, proper validation. I will keep you posted on where it goes from here. It is really hard to try and figure out their real intention. They filed a suit, but yet along with this affidavit there was a letter that stated to please contact them on how I want to proceed from this point. I will see what their response is, but at this point, they can sue me, they have not provided me with anything that would hold up in court any way.

Has anyone else dealt personally with this law firm? Your feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Melanie,
Please list the companies that you have loans with, the amount you borrowed and how much you have paid back.

They are shady to say the least. They contacted me I tried to work out payment within 2 months of the payment, I was being sued. Please check into your states statute of limitations on debt collection. If the debt they are trying to sue you over is past that statute date then you can prove that in court and they can't collect the debt. Most states is between 3&10 years. Please check because it can save you!

Melnye, fortunately Texas seems to be a debtor friendly state. Can you give a little more information about your debt? Are you being dunned now?

I just received my signature card for my certified letter, 3rd request to WWR for proper debt validation, should be interesting to see what they will say on this one or what they will send to properly validate.

Okay, I guess I am the sucker here, I set up payments with them a mont ago. I don'thave the money to keep the first monthly payment due the 30th of this month. I called them today to reset the date and was spoke down too, lectured about my priorities, told I should have cable or a cell phone until I pay them first. I was so upset. He continued to cut me off when I tried to speak and degrade me, telling me that my husband was a failure! He kept me on the phone for 20 minutes yelling and lecturing me without giving me confirmation that my payment would not be sent through on the 30th. He said to have my husband call and hung up on me! Any advice on what I can do about this??? I called back and was transfered back to the same ahole.
