Last summer I had a collection agency violate consumer laws several times. I contacted a consumer advocate (attorney who deals only with consumer law) and initiated a lawsuit. I just settled for $1,500 and the collection agency has to pay the attorney fees.

They just pushed me over the edge......

They were such evil jerks. Took money out of my account twice, left messages on my voice mail at home after being told in writing not to, contacted me at work, left a message with my husband and threatened me because I would not give them my new checking account number.

Good thing I kept good records and sent everything certified!

I will spend the $1500 with pleasure!
