I have been workign on cleanign up my credit report etc. My spouse came across a info about "unclaimed cash" on another forum which provided a link to Inside Edition to click on your state which provides a link to your state treasury site, you then enter your name and then see if you name pops up for "Unclaimed Cash". Well upon fither investigation this site seems to be a front for collecting on debts. My name came up for an address I have not lived at for 15 years and in another state I used to live. It states that there the property is listed with the county as judgements from CSC. What/Who is CSC? Another company like Asset Acceptance??
How can I find out what the judgements are with out filling out the form on the treasury site and sending in copies of ID, SS card etc as asked. They are looking for ways to hook you it seems. Also, I have not lived in the state for 8 years. Can they (CSC) come after me in the state I presently live? The only thing I can imagine it might be is an old Bell South bill.
Any ideas on the SOL? Would I have to look up the ones in the state the judgement is in?
Is there some way to look up judgements that is free?
I appreciate any info.

Welcome to the Community  You need to see if there is a judgement against you. You can go to the local Court Housees Court Clerks office and they can tell you. Also, in our county- we have a District Court Records you can go to and look up your name and see.
Not all those unclaimed money things are scams. Two of my friends had theri name on it, and it was for some deposits on old utility bills from years ago.
Unless I am mistaken- judgements don't go away, even if it's been that long.
Try searching and see if you can get any info on them-use the search feature at the top of your screen.

Judgments can expire, although the owner may seek a renewal.
The owner of a judgment has to go to court in your state to seek a sister state judgment in order to cause a garnishment.

I don't know much about judgments.
I have seen the ads and commercials for unclaimed cash but I was also leary about it being a scam.
