United Recovery System

Has anyone had any dealings with URS? They've called my office several times but only leave a call back number. I haven't called them back yet. Does anyone have any advice how to handle a call with them? I figure they must be calling about my AMEX account since I've already dealt with my other creditors.

I Dv'd them back in July...haven't heard from them since. I've sent 2 DV letters.....I would send a DV at once.....certified!!! Keep your little green thingy and write down any calls to your home or office from them. Document everything you can. See if they validate with proper proof....

From there...there are others way more experienced that can lead you in the right direction on how to handle them in case it goes further...

See if you have any recent Inquiries from URS. I would answer the next time they call and verify you're the consumer they are seeking, verify your address, very clearly state they are calling you at work and their calls place your employment in jeopardy. Tell them they now have 5 day sto send you a dunning letter. End the call. When they send the letter, respond with a DV.

I did pull my credit reports this morning because I received a dunning letter from NCO yesterday. Strange enough, there are no inquiries for NCO but there is one on Experian from URS. My credit report doesn't show any of my deliquent accounts having gone to collections yet.

I'll be giving URS a call tomorrow after I buy a tape recorder this evening. They've been call since 12/30 which is when they pulled my CR.

I'll be sending NCO a response as well. They're trying to collect on an AMEX account which doesn't show as having gone to collections.

Thanks Nascar! I already found out that NCO and URS are bonded in Texas. I couldn't find Chapter 17. What does this statue deal with?

I received the dunning letter from URS today. I find it interesting that AMEX is using 2 different companies to collect. Neither one of these companies own the debt and both letters state that they will go back to the creditor for any type of validation. URS's letter actually has a statement "If you write to us and ask us to stop communicating with you about this debt, we will, but if you owe this debt, you will still owe it and the debt may still be collected from you."

I've been talking with AMEX about settling both accounts so I don't know why they are using CAs.
