Hi, I'm new here. I got a letter two weeks ago from Universal Fidelity. I'd like to pay it but I just can't pay the entire amount. I've been stressing about it and today they started calling me at work and called me three times. I told them I can't make a payment today, I might be able to later this week or next. But after reading here I also do not want to give them my bank account or debit card account etc as it sounds like they don't always post it when they say, take more etc.

I'm going to mail a letter requesting they stop calling me at work. Who knows if it will help, but I'll send it.

But what should I do about paying this in the meantime? Can I mail a check for a partial payment to the address on letter/bill I received?

Please help, this is making me sick to my stomach and the calls at work are so embarassing since we have no privacy in my office.

Once you send them a letter to them stating not to call you and handled everything in writing, they should stop. This site has several sample letters to use. Definitely do not give them your bank account or debit card information. That is not required to pay off a debit. Ask them if they will accept western union payments. If you mail a check, they may convert that to an ACH payment to use for future use..

you could also send a letter stating your payment terms, and I would send a money order - make a copy. Don't give them your bank info. Make sure any letter you send is a certified one requesting a signature of acceptance. Then you have proof you sent it
