I keep getting calls from an unknown number or 800 numbers, lot of different ones! It's foriegners, sometimes can barely understand what they're saying! But they say they're a pharmacy and want to know what meds i take and if i want to order pain medication! WTH is that? over the phone? from a pharmacy? Yea i bet they're REAL legit!!
I've asked them several times to take my name off thier list but yet they still call many times a day. Anyone else get this or does anyone know what i can do to stop these annoying calls?!?!

Get their names, the name of the business and ask that you be placed on their Do Not Call List. If they do call you after that you can report them and they will be fined!

I've told them that a million times! But they say they're all from different companies, yet they all sound like the same person! lol

In that case, get their names and say something like when you complain, you will name their name or something like that. Also tell them that you will be calling the local PD and see how fast they hang up!

And anyway who in the world orders pain medication off the phone?!?!? YIKES!

And it sounds very illegal. Probably a scam to get your account information. I saw a report on the news 2 days ago, the sheriff's association was warning people not to return messages from numbers that begin with prefixes like 204, 207, 866, and a few others. It seems when people returned their calls they were being put on hold. The messages left varied but one was "return this call immediately, one of your relatives have been hurt in an accident.". When people called, then placed on hold, and BEING CHARGED HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS PER MINUTE TO THEIR PHONE COMPANY!. I would report them to your AG's office immediately, you have their numbers, sounds very illegal, an attempt to gain access to your accounts.

that's what i thought too Steelers! Figured they wanted my info to take my money! I'll start tracking the numbers but sometimes they're listed as unknown sometimes not!

Call your phone company to block these unknown numbers. It's worth a try.

Try doing a search on the internet on the phone numbers--if it is a scam, chances are good that someone else has posted about it somewhere, if not in this forum.

It is most definately a scam. No company is going to solicit potential customers by offerring them prescriptions for prescribed narcotics, talk about illegal. The only legal way to get the medication is to see your doctor and get a prescription.

I'm getting phone messages lately - EVERY DAY from a number that shows up on my caller ID with the name "business opp" (as in business opportunity) from someone named John at "SAS", and in the message, he says he desperately wants to share this 14 trillion dollar (not kidding, he said 14 trillion) business opportunity with me, but I must call him back.

He gives a different 800 number every time he calls, and I called ONE of them back - it took me directly to the Federal Do Not Call Registry (which I'm already registered on)! What the heck??

Now today, I happened to be home when this call came, and answered it, ready to chew someone out over calling me when I'm on the Do Not Call list. They hung up when I picked up. I've researched this a bit on the internet, and it appears a lot of people are getting these calls - and it follows the same pattern - the guy calls, leaves an urgent message about a business opportunity, but hangs up if you pick up the phone, and if you call back, you get the Do Not Call registry.

Weird.

I keep getting unknown caller and they hang up right away. You could always try the joke that Anthony had a link to in a prior post with the murder investigation when they call & see what happens!

Steelers is right over this being a scam, which I am sure that it is--but I am wondering if you have Star 69 on your phone, whether you could call the number for giggles and see what you get. Would be interesting...
