Medical Revenue Validation

Message Author
PostPosted: Fri Jun 22, 2007 12:04 pm Subject: Medical Revenue Validation

Ok so if u remember correctly i had sent off for validation from this CA. It was supposed to be for 2 different accounts, same hospital. Well today i recieved ALL the information from my son's test along with my signature on the contract. So ok that's valid right?
Now the question is.... the second one is totally ignored... nothing on it, no paper work, no signed contract.... now what? Do I try to make payment arrangements for his and continue to dispute this other one that they say is for me?
Thanks for any answers,
Ang

Well looks like they validated one account. So either make payment arrangements with the ca or pay the medical provider directly.Resend dv letter with copy of old letter stating thank you for validating this account, but somehow second account was ignored so please send me the validation for it.

Cajun is right. Make the CA prove in writing that they are authorized to collect on both the accounts. As of now, you have got the debt validated of your son's account. So, you can work out a payment arrangement on that account only.

So when i send this, yet another, DV letter let them know what i am willing to pay on this acct per month or try to negotiate a lower lump sum payment? Also, in this dispute the charge that they have under my name?? Asking for same documentation as they provided for my son?
Sorry for all the questions just wanna make sure i do this right!
thanks in advance,
Ang
P.S. Oh and btw... i got a call from Sallie Mae today approving a loan in the amount of 7,800 at 8.8% interest, fixed rate, with a ten year pay off, no penalty for early pay off. WTH?! Should I consider getting this loan and put in a savings acct under my daughter's name for my future with CACH?? (rolls my eyes) ha ha

Ok so the days are passing me by and i need to do something on this second acct. Do i just write a letter as Cajun stated thanking them for validating the first acct but want validation on the second? Also, in this same letter do i make my payment arrangments with them? Try to settle for a lesser amount? Only thing is.... this will be off my credit report in the next year and it doesn't seem to be affecting my credit too much as i have been able to get a cc, a Parent Plus loan and a loan thru Dell with NO interest for year! Of course i opted to NOT get any of these except the cc and i haven't even used it in the 4 or so months i've had it. I will ONLY use it if i am able to pay it off at the end of the month!!
Not falling into this trap again! Also checked my credit scores and i'm not sure what's good and what's not but they seemed high to me even with a default judgment, i don't understand!! (but also not complaining) lol
thanks for any help,
Ang

Personally, I would treat each one separately - a separate letter dealing with each account. In one letter, work out your payment arrangements for the one that has been validated. In the second letter, make it a DV solely for the one that has not been validated. That keeps the lines clean and keeps anyone from getting confused.

Thanks Here, cuz it has been a little confusing with both of them! It took me almost an hour to figure out which one was validated and which one wasn't!!
I'll try to do it that way!
Again, thanks,

I would do exactly that also - because what if they aren't able to validate the 2nd one properly? I personally have had too many mistakes with medical bills to think that they would have their act together. Keep them seperate, which will make it easier for you too. Good luck - and a suggestion, make sure they will offer a "paid in full as agreed" not a "paid after collections" I made that mistake - CA offered me a reduced amout to pay it, and when I asked if I paid the full amount would it show paid in full on my CR - they said oh yes well yeah it technically does, but not the way it should have been this was before I found this place...man I learned a lesson!!
