okay not trying to keep encouraging the wounded troll
but my last perspective on subject here is a reality check I think

troll talks about $1111.00 that someone owes and needs to pay

what exact service did this other guest who spent that money receive?..a game of chance?..yes a game

I play Pogo every now and then same type of games of chance where the wheels spin and pretty pictures are on screen and it probably costs what ..nothing? for site to let me play when I decide to visit?

So when people decide not to pay these illegal on line gambling debts..it's not like the on line gambling sites actually lost anything...uhm did they provide granite counter tops? or a T.V.? or a labor force? the list goes on and on....

now a troll response would be "If you won..you wouldn't mind cashing out on this illegal transaction"
but the fact is that no one ends up winning here in the long run and that is why the U.S. made these transactions illegal..

if guest doesn't pay the $1111.00 no one is really
out anything..just a few pretty pictures that rolled across the monitor and amounted to nothing..

now if someone on sight can actually show me cases of people in jail or prosecuted for these type of transactions..I will change my tune..but until then
LA LA LA LA LA merrily I sing my song ... talk to the hand that doesn't feed ya troll!!!!!!

The reason that our country (among others) have outlawed internet gambling: If you went to Vegas and you played the slots, you might win a little something (just how the machine works) you play roulet*te, you might get lucky depending on what the wheel does, same with cards and dice. But in a virtual model, if they set it up right, they are using modulus mathematical operation which does not truly produce random results in the first place. Or it can be rigged, so nobody wins. If you win then it's because they let you win and the rest of the time they could make it so they bleed you dry. It's all computer code, really removes the randomness from the game of chance. To my point: There is no way for United States officials or any other government for that matter, to regulate programming code. That is why it's illegal here in the USA.

Somebody is obviously lost on their laws crying about freedom of speech. This is a private site and freedom of speech applies only with the government. Please reread the bill of rights and quit bugging someone who knows his laws.

I was researching similar charges to my acct. I found that my spouse did set up an account and do "business" with them. It is a debt, just because you have regrets, does not mean you should be let off the hook for your gambling. Would you have given back your winnings if they had been issued by a company claiming to be a telephone co?

Guest2, this topic has been dead for at least 10 days. I'm sure the original poster has come to some type of resolution by now. We can just leave it at that and let this thread die.

I have not come to a resoloution yet..after being told I was turned over to a collector I got another email the other day saying the same thing as the 1st and threatening to turn me over to collections. I offered to play it safe and make settlement arangements and they said they wanted my checking acct info which I would not give, I asked them if I could put it on my credit card and they stopped replying

If you are going to pay it I would suggest paying it with an item that does not have any of your checking account information on it, such as a money order.

If it's been turned over to a collection agency make sure you get everything in writing first before you proceed with payment. You may also want to send your payments certified mail, return receipt requested. That way you will have proof of receipt of payment.

Whether you pay them or not is entirely up to you. In your place, I probably wouldn't.

Do not, under any circumstances, give them your credit card or banking information. They're likely as not to clean out your account or max your card. If you want to pay them, send them a money order or a cashier's check.

I offered to pay with my CC because that way if they did anythign shady I could dispute it again..they stopped responding to my emails for some reason.

If I hear from a collection agency will it be on my credit report immediately or do they have to wait 30 days? Also if I pay the collection agency will it still show up on my report or will it be gone at that point?

I'm really not sure if it can post to your credit report, the debt belongs to a company outside of the United States and if it is sent to a collection agency they are simply managing the account, they have no ownership. It's kinda hard to tell.
