About One-Two Punch tactic

There has been some curiosity about the DV method known as “The One-Two Punch”. Also a few criticisms about it. Basically the idea goes like this:

You send a DV to the CA CMRR. Once you get proof back that they got the letter, you then dispute with the 3 CRAs. Since the account is under a DV, they can not legally verify with the CRA and thus the account gets deleted. IF they do verify, then you ask for the method of verification from the CRA as the CA just violated (3 violations if the account is on the 3 credit reports). If they violate you now have them and could sue them.

Some people think this is unfair as this could be used even on legitimate debts to not have to pay your bills. Well, let me point something out:

If it is a legitimate debt (The CA has ALL the required documentation), they simply don’t verify and it gets taken off the report. Once they send the documentation to the debtor, they are completely free to put the account back on!

Only CAs who operate illegally get burned.

exactly golden,i had a couple of credit cards that went to collections.the agency provided proper validation.i worked out payment arrangments, and now 2 months later both show PIF.you see,not all agencies are bottom feeders,it is the ones that collect for pdl's and such that get it handed to them by a savy consumer like yourself.

I recently had one put on my credit report after I sent a DV letter to an attorney who never mentioned the CA. I simply stated I sent a DV letter to the attorney before the entry was put on and it got deleted less than 30 days later.

As far as the attorney goes he only said his client was Bally Fitness which I only went twice to. He said he was suing me and I have yet to see anything on it.
