West Asset Management called me, not for me, but because I'm a relative of someone they are trying to track I asked them several times if this was a collection agency they said NO each time. The call came from Huntsville Alabama. 256-529-4031 I refused to give them anyinformation and told them I believed they are a collection agency and not to call me again. What are my rights if these "people" call again ?

They may not call again. But another CA might if the debt is assigned to them .

Debts like student loans have references listed. The Department of Ed required we call them. Moms never knew where their kids where....obviously mom thought she was protecting her child. Well we would start a garnishment...kid would call in and find out that mom never passed messages along or lied about not knowing where they were.

Take the CA's number and pass it along. Let the debtor make the decsion. The CA shoiuld only call you once. Howeve if the debtor doesnt resolve it and the debt is placed with another CA, the cycle of calls will start all over again.

You don’t need to share any personal information with them. Send a C&D letter to them. If they are still trying to harass you, then you can file a complaint against them to the State Attorney General or, FTC. You can also consult with an experienced lawyer and get advice from him/her. West Asset Management is a collection agency. The following link may help you in this regard:
