The only reason why I said they were a joke is because of the unprofessional manner that go about doing there business. I have worked in a very prominent law firm before and have never thought about speaking to clients like the way they do.

Alas, collections is not about customer service.... its about getting the debt paid - or not. If you think a collection agency is breaking the law, why would you ask for advice on this site instead of on a legal website or talk directly to an attorney --- lawyers dont usually charge for consultations. The other reason why I ask this is because laws vary from state to state so much that it would be easy to get recommendations that might not be correct.

Well I don't recall anyone on here saying that they were experts on this site this is just a support website and nobody is giving legal advice on what to do and always suggest that they contact an attorney.

I disagree with you to a point that you are right that collections is not about customer service to a point, BUT they are more apt to get the money if they acted more professional than being rude and insulting and could provide the proper validations when asked.
