Anyone had any dealings with this folks? This is who Huntington Bank turned our over drawn account over too. I was offered a settlement or monthly pmts of 273 for 6 months...Not sure what I can do this minute. How do things go with these law firm collectors? Any Advise? Thanks Reny

Sorry I guess the real name is weltman, wienberg and reis...

Can anyone please tell me the best course of action to deal with them. We owe the money, and want to pay it back just want to make sure I do it the right way. What if I can't afford as much as they are asking? Thanks Reny

Does the bank still own this or have they sold it off to WW&R? They are one of Bud's worst so are not going to be easy to deal with. I know they collect for LVNV.

Reny, did you receive a dunning letter from them that gave you thirty days to reply? Does the dunning letter say they were assigned to collect? Anyway, make sure you make them validate that debt, I know you are aware that it's your debt, but, I would still make them validate this debt. It's your right. Get a validation letter out before the 30 days are up, and send it certified return receipt. Smile

Reny if they call you again tell them they had 5 days after the first initial contact to send you a dunning letter. I wouldn't make any deals over the telephone if it were me.

I'm with Shazz and the others- be careful dealing with them. I have been dealing with them and LVNV for over 2 years, they don't play well with others Laughing

Be sure and get everything in writing, and make sure they are supposed to be collecting on the debt. You don't want to pay them, and find out they weren't the ones you were supposed to pay. Or worse, they make a settlement offer with you, and turn around and sell the balance. - made that mistake myself years ago.

It is better with them that you communicate by mail, they tend not to listen well. Good Luck, let us know what happens..karen

been there done that, weltman, wineberg and reese is an attorney office, had to deal with them on a credit card. they will bring civil suit to you and judge will sign before you even know they sued you. had to take out loan to pay and get it out of court. they will tack on alot of fees and you will have to pay them. call them asap before they file judgement and you have court costs.

I have spoken to them 2xs so far, they are offering a pmt plan or settlement. Did you have a pmt plan with them before they took you to court?

Excuse my jumping in here but

what is a acceptable validation by the courts? All they have on me is a credit card statement. They sent me a copy of it but I don't consider that validation. Don't they have to provide a signed application or something?
